Full Job Description

A Fremont local political candidate is seeking a motivated and organized college student to join a local campaign team.

This is an excellent opportunity for Fremont based students interested in public service, government, public policy, communications, community engagement, or political campaigns. Ideal for students considering careers in politics, public policy, law, communications, government, or community leadership.

Responsibilities:

Support voter outreach efforts, including phone banking and canvassing
Assist with social media content creation and digital communications
Help organize campaign events and volunteer activities
Manage voter data, spreadsheets, and administrative tasks
Attend community meetings and campaign events as needed
Assist with photography, video content, and event logistics
Conduct research on local issues, public policy, and community organizations
Help prepare campaign materials and presentations

Qualifications:

Current college student or recent graduate
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
Comfortable using social media platforms and basic office software
Interest in local government, community service, public policy, or political campaigns
Bilingual skills (Chinese, Spanish, Hindi, or other languages) are a plus but not required
Valid driver's license and access to vehicle for the duration of the role

Schedule:

Approximately 10–20 hours per week
Flexible schedule
Evenings and weekends may be required, especially closer to election week
July - September in person availability in Fremont

Compensation:

$20–$25 per hour, depending on experience
Flexible work schedule
Hands-on experience in a local political campaign
Opportunity to work closely with community leaders and gain practical experience in public affairs, communications, and grassroots organizing
