Position Summary
Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co. is seeking a highly organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Part-Time Accounting & HR Coordinator to support the financial, payroll, and human resources functions of our family-owned brewery.
This position will be responsible for day-to-day accounting administration, payroll coordination, employee records, onboarding, HR administration, and compliance tracking across Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co.’s locations.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working with both numbers and people, maintains strict confidentiality, follows through on deadlines, and is able to work independently in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Position Details

Accounting Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting records.
- Enter and categorize transactions, invoices, bills, deposits, and expenses.
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts.
- Process and organize accounts payable.
- Assist with accounts receivable and outstanding invoices.
- Review vendor invoices for accuracy and proper approval.
- Track recurring expenses and vendor payments.
- Assist with weekly and monthly financial reporting.
- Monitor transactions for discrepancies and bring issues to management’s attention.
- Assist with month-end and year-end accounting procedures.
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
- Prepare financial information and reports for the company CPA.
- Assist the CPA with tax filings, financial reporting, and year-end requirements.
- Assist management with budgeting, expense tracking, and basic financial analysis.
- Maintain appropriate accounting documentation for audits and financial reviews.
Payroll Responsibilities
- Coordinate payroll processing with the company’s payroll provider.
- Review employee timecards for accuracy and completeness.
- Follow up with managers regarding missing or incorrect time records.
- Verify employee wage changes, new hires, terminations, and other payroll changes.
- Maintain accurate payroll records.
- Track vacation, sick leave, and other applicable time-off balances.
- Assist with payroll-related employee questions.
- Maintain payroll-related documentation and deadlines.
Human Resources Responsibilities
- Coordinate new-hire paperwork and onboarding.
- Maintain accurate and confidential personnel files.
- Ensure required employee documentation is completed and maintained.
- Track employee status changes, wage changes, promotions, and terminations.
- Assist with employee handbook and policy administration.
- Maintain HR calendars and compliance deadlines.
- Assist with benefits administration and employee questions.
- Coordinate workers’ compensation documentation and claims with the appropriate providers.
- Assist with unemployment claims and employment verification requests.
- Maintain required workplace postings and HR records.
- Assist managers with routine HR administrative questions.
- Help ensure company policies and procedures are consistently documented and communicated.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding employee and company information.
Compliance & Administrative Responsibilities
- Help maintain records and administrative processes related to California employment requirements.
- Track required licenses, permits, certifications, insurance documents, and renewal dates as assigned.
- Maintain organized digital and physical files.
- Create and maintain administrative checklists and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain calendars for payroll, tax, insurance, licensing, and other recurring deadlines.
- Help identify administrative issues before they become problems.
- Provide management with timely reminders regarding upcoming deadlines and required actions.
Management Support
- Provide ownership and management with accurate and timely accounting and HR information.
- Prepare reports and summaries as requested.
- Help improve internal accounting, payroll, and HR systems.
- Identify opportunities to reduce administrative errors and improve efficiency.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
- Work closely with managers at Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co. locations to ensure consistent administrative procedures.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, HR administration, or a related field.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software.
- Experience with payroll and timekeeping systems.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
- Familiarity with California employment practices and wage-and-hour requirements.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and meet recurring deadlines.
- Hospitality, restaurant, brewery, or multi-location business experience preferred.

Scope of Authority
This position is responsible for accounting, payroll, HR, and administrative coordination.
The position does not provide independent legal, tax, employment-law, or professional accounting advice. Complex tax, legal, employee-relations, compliance, or other specialized matters will be referred to company ownership and/or the company’s CPA, payroll provider, HR consultant, insurance provider, or legal counsel.
Compensation
$22–$25 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Part-time position with the potential for increased hours based on business needs and performance.
