PRODUCTION DIRECTOR
First Christian Church | Santa Maria, California
Part-Time | Approximately 25–30 Hours Per Week
First Christian Church is looking for an experienced and dependable Production Director to oversee the day-to-day technical and production needs of our church.
Reporting directly to the Worship Pastor, this person will provide leadership and direction for our weekend services, special events, production systems, and volunteer teams. We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent organization, leadership, and a heart for serving the local church.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with and report directly to the Worship Pastor
- Oversee production for Sunday services, rehearsals, and church-wide events
- Lead, schedule, train, and develop production volunteers
- Manage and maintain audio, video, lighting, broadcast, and presentation systems
- Prepare production systems and teams throughout the week for upcoming services
- Partner with the Worship Pastor and other ministry leaders to execute the creative and technical vision for services
- Troubleshoot technical issues and develop reliable production workflows
- Maintain equipment, organization, documentation, and inventory
- Continually improve both the in-room and online worship experience
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working in live production, preferably in a church environment
- Strong working knowledge of live audio, video, lighting, broadcast, and presentation systems
- Experience leading and developing volunteers or production teams
- Organized, dependable, proactive, and able to work independently
- Calm and solution-oriented when handling technical problems
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine heart for ministry and alignment with the mission and values of First Christian Church
Experience with systems such as the Behringer WING, Waves SoundGrid, Dante, ProPresenter, Blackmagic cameras and switchers, livestreaming platforms, DAW-Logic, and Planning Center is a plus.
SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION
- Approximately 25–30 hours per week
- Sundays and some evenings or special events are required
- $30–$32 per hour, depending on experience
- This is a part-time position and does not currently include health insurance benefits
