The Press Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining flexographic or digital presses used in the production of high-quality wine labels. Job Summary & Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate printing presses to produce wine labels according to job specifications, schedules, and quality standards.
- Review work orders, proofs, and specifications to ensure accuracy of materials, colors, and layouts before production.
- Mix inks, monitor color matching, and perform press checks to maintain consistent quality throughout production runs.
- Inspect printed materials for defects such as registration issues, color variations, or imperfections, and make necessary adjustments.
- Maintain press cleanliness and perform basic maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs as needed.
- Track production data, waste, and materials usage in accordance with company reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with prepress, finishing, and quality control teams to ensure smooth workflow and on-time order completion.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training in printing or graphic arts preferred.
- 2+ years of experience operating printing presses (flexographic, offset, or digital), preferably in a label or packaging environment.
- Working knowledge of ink systems, substrates, and color management.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot press or print quality issues.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods during production shifts.
- Team-oriented with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience printing pressure-sensitive labels or on specialty substrates (e.g., textured or metallic papers).
- Familiarity with Esko, HP Indigo, Mark Andy, or similar press systems.
- Knowledge of wine industry branding or premium label aesthetics is a plus.

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
