Customer Service Associate (Counter Service)

Location: Fishetarian Fish Market Inc., Bodega Bay, CA

Job Type: Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal

Pay: $22.00 to $26.00 per hour

Expected Hours: 20 to 40 per week

Fishetarian Fish Market Inc. is hiring upbeat, hard-working individuals to join our Front of House team as Customer Service Associates. This is a fast-paced counter service position, not a server role. You will take orders at the register, call out orders, expedite food, and help keep our high-volume operation running smoothly.

Who We Are

Founded in 2012 by Shane and Dana Lucas, Fishetarian is a casual, counter-style seafood restaurant serving sustainable, locally caught favorites like fish and chips and our award-winning gluten-free clam chowder. We are a certified Ocean Safe restaurant and have earned multiple North Bay and Sonoma County awards including Best Seafood, Best Chowder, Best Eats on the Coast, and Best Gluten-Free Menu.

We are one of the busiest destinations on the Sonoma Coast with beachfront dining and a strong local following. We proudly operate as a “Bummer Free Zone” with our Bummer Free Guarantee: you love your meal or your money back.

What You Will Do

As a Customer Service Associate, you will rotate through several counter service tasks including:

Greeting guests and delivering warm, friendly service
Running the register and taking orders accurately and quickly
Calling out orders and expediting food with attention to detail
Helping guests understand the menu and identify allergens
Following cash handling procedures
Assisting with deli case items, salads, grab-and-go items, and dessert stocking
Merchandising, stocking, and unloading shipments
Helping maintain the gift shop area
Participating in training and team meetings
Maintaining speed, accuracy, and quality during high-volume rushes
Following food safety rules including handwashing, glove changes, and sanitation
Following company policies on breaks, meals, grooming, uniforms, and attendance
Maintaining reliable availability, especially weekends, holidays, and peak season
Using slower months (Nov to April) for personal time or vacation

What We Are Looking For

Must be able to speak and read English
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Positive attitude and strong teamwork
Ability to move quickly and multitask in a high-volume environment
Strong attention to detail
Sense of urgency and ability to prioritize
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene
Prior restaurant or hospitality experience preferred
Willingness to participate in ongoing training
High school diploma or equivalent (or work permit if in high school)
Over 21 is a plus but not required
Driver’s license preferred

Important Notes About This Role

This is counter service, not a server position
The environment is very fast-paced, especially during peak season
Long lines, high energy, and constant movement are part of the job
We are a tip pool restaurant and every team member must carry their weight
