Electrical CAD Designer / Drafter
Advanced Extraction Labs / Platinum Finishing Systems (PFS)
Santa Rosa, CA — On-site, Full-Time
About Us
Platinum Finishing Systems is a vertically integrated manufacturer of modular enclosures and precision-built structures for the finishing, extraction, and modular housing industries. Under our three brands — Platinum Finishing Systems, ModCubes, and Advanced Extraction Labs — we design and fabricate paint booths, clean rooms, modular container ADUs, mobile labs, and custom engineered structures, all built in-house at our Santa Rosa facility.
The Role
We're hiring an Electrical CAD Designer / Drafter to produce accurate, build-ready electrical documentation for our full range of industrial and modular products — think wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams, load calculations, panel schedules, and equipment elevations. Revit experience is a strong plus. You'll also help assemble permit-ready drawing packages to keep projects moving through approvals.
You'll be drawing for a genuinely varied product lineup: industrial paint spray booths, clean rooms and hazardous-location enclosures (UL / Class I Div 1 / ETL listed), mobile extraction labs, container-based ADUs (ModCubes), and custom engineered equipment packages.
What You'll Do
- Create and maintain wiring diagrams, control schematics, and interconnect drawings for equipment and modular systems
- Produce single-line diagrams, load calculations, panel schedules, and electrical takeoffs
- Develop equipment elevations and layout drawings showing conduit routing, connection points, and installation notes
- Prepare and organize permit-ready plan sets and submittal documentation for city/county approvals
- Support drawing packages for internal production, installation, and field coordination
- Coordinate with engineering and production teams to keep designs buildable and code-aware
- Update drawings based on field feedback, fabrication changes, and revisions
- Maintain drawing standards, naming conventions, and revision control
What You Bring
- Strong hands-on experience producing electrical drawings — wiring diagrams, schematics, single-lines, layouts
- Proficiency with AutoCAD (required or strongly preferred); Revit experience preferred
- Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems (panels, sensors, motors, heaters, interlocks, controls)
- A track record of clean, accurate documentation and disciplined revision management
- Comfort collaborating directly with engineers, fabricators, and project managers
Nice to Have
- Experience contributing to permit packages or coordinating drawings for approvals
- Familiarity with NEC-informed design practices
- Background in modular construction, steel framing, or equipment integration
- Light 3D coordination in Revit (families, views, sheets, annotations)
- Bilingual English/Spanish
Why PFS
This is a hands-on role with direct line of sight into fabrication and assembly — you'll see your drawings become real equipment on the shop floor. As we expand across PFS, ModCubes, and Advanced Extraction Labs, there's real room to grow with the product line.
