Join an exciting and growing company in Petaluma dedicated to dogs and owners alike! Dairydell Canine is Petaluma's premier dog boarding and training facility, known for its specialty in helping women with the family dog.
This is a Hybrid Position that encompasses responsibilities within the Kennel and Training Department. Employees in this role may be assigned to one or more of these departments at any given time, depending on the operational needs of the company.
We are looking to hire a team-player who is interested in the rewarding experience of helping change our clients’ lives. By training the family dog, Dairydell training can make a real impact on the success of the human-dog relationship, minimizing returns to shelters and potentially dangerous situations at home. No previous dog training experience necessary, we actually prefer to train you on the job with our unique Nature-Based philosophy.
- Vocational training taught on the job – no previous dog training experience necessary (But prior experience with either dogs, horses or livestock is a must!)
- About 30 hours/week. Wage will grow with skill plus commissions.
- 3-month probationary trial with possibility of longer-term employment and benefits

Promoting our board and train
Dairydell Canine is looking for an energetic, creative, and self-motivated individual to help grow our Board & Train program. This is a unique opportunity for someone who loves thinking outside the box, enjoys building relationships with clients, and wants to make a real impact on the success of our training department. This includes..
· · Reaching out to previous clients who may benefit from additional training or refresher programs.
· · Contacting potential clients who have expressed interest in training to answer questions and help them choose the right program.
· · Following up with inquiries through phone calls, emails, and text messages.
· · Educating clients on the benefits of training and explaining the different programs we offer.
· · Working closely with our trainers to understand each dog’s needs and recommend the best training options.
· · Building lasting relationships with clients by providing outstanding customer service from their first inquiry through their training journey.
· · Tracking leads and helping convert inquiries into enrolled training programs.
· · Brainstorming new ideas to keep our training program fresh, exciting, and continuously growing.
Requirements to Apply :

- Available 4 weekdays plus Saturday
- Good interpersonal skills
- Reliable transportation
- Comfortable in front of small groups
- Animal experience with horses or livestock preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Able to stand/walk up to 8 hours per day
- Able to lift at least 50 pounds
- Able to turn, bend and move quickly when necessary
- Work outdoors in any weather when necessary
Work hours for this position typically range between 15 to 30 hours per week, though actual hours may fluctuate based on seasonal demand, boarding volume, company requirements and how many dogs are assigned for training.
As a Hybrid Team Member, you will receive cross-training in all key areas. Training may be conducted either consecutively or as scheduling permits.
The right applicant must be a team-player, hard-working, reliable, customer service experience a plus and most importantly, possess a naturally positive attitude and a commitment to creating the very best “client experience” available!
ANIMAL EXPERIENCE PREFERED (dogs, horses or livestock).
MUST BE ABLE TO WORK SATURDAY
Kennel Attendant Duties Include:
- Feeding and medicating dogs
- Providing a safe environment for dogs to interact with each other and our staff
- Monitoring any "Special Needs" dogs, who may be older or medically fragile
- Providing friendly and professional customer service
- Maintaining our high standards of cleanliness inside and outside of our facility (this includes poop scooping and other chores!)
- Maneuver and move kennel equipment around as needed
Additional Position Information:
- 15-30 hours per week planned dependent on your availability: Part-time - some split shifts AM and PM may apply
- Flexible Scheduling
- Picking up additional voluntary coverage shifts may be possible

Required Experience/Qualifications:
- Previous animal experience (whether personal or professional)
- Ability to take direction and work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to make quick, independent, critical decisions and act on them accordingly when necessary
- Excellent communication skills, respectful and friendly to all, always; professional disposition and appearance
- Valid Driver's license, reliable transportation and clean driving record
