Autodesk Fusion 360 Specialist - AI Trainer

Compensation is hourly. The hourly rate will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and project requirements.

Job Summary

In this role, you'll apply your Autodesk Fusion 360 and mechanical design expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input.

No prior experience in AI is required—your expertise in parametric CAD modeling and mechanical engineering is what matters most.

You'll contribute to the development of AI systems by creating, reviewing, and validating advanced CAD models while ensuring design accuracy, manufacturability, and adherence to engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Develop fully parametric 3D models of mechanical parts and assemblies based on detailed written briefs, emphasizing robust sketching, constraints, and feature trees.
Edit and update existing parametric CAD models to reflect evolving requirements while maintaining manufacturability and compliance with specifications.
Audit and review CAD models for dimensional accuracy, tolerance application, and alignment with design intent, documenting any gaps or deviations.
Support AI model training by providing high-quality CAD models and clear documentation of engineering decisions.
Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles across manufacturing processes such as injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, and casting/forging.
Communicate technical feedback, design rationale, and engineering recommendations clearly in both written and verbal formats.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Extensive hands-on experience with parametric CAD platforms, with strong proficiency in Autodesk Fusion 360. Experience with FreeCAD, SolidWorks, or Autodesk Inventor is also highly valued.
Practical application of GD&T principles (ASME Y14.5 or equivalent) in production environments.
Demonstrated DFM expertise across at least two or three manufacturing processes relevant to mechanical design.
Minimum of 4 years of experience performing CAD model editing tasks; 10+ years preferred for complex model creation.
Experience creating and managing assembly-level CAD models.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent technical documentation abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with reverse engineering workflows such as scan-to-CAD or point cloud conversion.
Familiarity with CAD automation or scripting using Python, iLogic, NX Open, VBA, or similar tools.
Experience improving engineering workflows through automation and process standardization.
Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering or CAD workflows.
