Lead Residential Service Electrician (Clear Path to Service Manager)

Position Type: Full-Time, Working Field Supervisor

Expected Total Compensation: $95,000- $120,000+ (Base + Personal Production + Team Overrides)

Are you a skilled licensed electrician who loves the trade but doesn’t want to be crawling into hot Utah attics when you’re 45? At Mr. Electric of Orem , we are building something different. We aren't a massive, faceless 200-truck corporation where you’re just a number, and we aren't a struggling mom-and-pop shop. We are a fast-growing, premium brand focused on creating an outstanding workplace built on respect, elite compensation, and actual career growth.

We are looking for our next Lead Residential Service Electrician —a master of troubleshooting who will run their own truck cleanly while serving as the go-to field mentor for our growing team. Most importantly, this role is a direct pipeline to becoming our full-time, off-the-truck Service Manager within the next 24 months.

The Growth Path: Your Exit Strategy from the Truck

We don't just promise advancement; we map it out in writing from Day 1:

Phase 1: The Working Lead (Months 1–12): Run a premium service route, lead by example, and act as the technical lifeline for junior techs in the field.
Phase 2: The Field Supervisor (Months 13–24): Shift to a 50/50 split between high-ticket field work and management duties (conducting field quality checks, ride-alongs, and running weekly shop training).
Phase 3: Full-Time Service Manager (Month 24+): Hang up your tool belt. Step entirely off the truck and into the office to run the division, handle hiring, and drive branch strategy with full salary and branch profitability bonuses.

Uncapped Compensation: Earn More When Your Team Wins

We believe leaders should be rewarded for the success of the people they build. Our hybrid compensation model ensures you are highly paid for your own production plus the growth of your team:

Premium Base Hourly: $35.00 – $42.00 / hour (Based on your license type and experience level).

Personal Performance Bonuses: Keep earning top-tier incentives on the work generated by your own truck. (Remind us of how your commission structure works please and do you have bonuses? Need a reminder.)
Team Revenue Override: Earn 3% on gross margin on all electricians/trucks, including your own. When you help them succeed, your paycheck grows automatically.
Expected Total Year 1 Earnings: $95,000-120,000 (Base + Personal Production + Team Overrides)

What We Are Looking For

The License: A current, valid Utah Journeyman or Master Electrical License (or comparable out-of-state credentials ready to transfer to DOPL).
The Experience: Minimum of 5 years of dedicated residential electrical experience, with a heavy emphasis on residential service, advanced troubleshooting, and panel upgrades.
The Mindset: A proactive, "extreme ownership" attitude. You don't just spot problems; you create solutions.
The Mentor Factor: You genuinely enjoy teaching. You want to see apprentices succeed and take pride in raising the technical standard of the team around you.
The Basics: Clean driving record, ability to pass a background check and periodic drug testing.

Your Core Responsibilities

Lead by Example: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex residential electrical systems cleanly and efficiently according to code.
Provide Field Support: Act as the primary phone or on-site technical resource for junior team members when they hit a roadblock on a job.
Champion the System: Follow and teach Mr. Electric’s proven customer-service processes, ensuring clients are given clear options and premium communication.
Protect the Fleet: Oversee the organizational standards, cleanliness, and material tracking for your assigned van.
