Job Overview

Double Trouble Contractors is seeking a motivated and dependable OTR (Over-the-Road) Box Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a box truck to deliver goods efficiently across designated routes. Your energetic approach and commitment to safety will ensure timely deliveries, excellent customer service, and smooth warehouse operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity for drivers who thrive on movement, manual handling, and delivering exceptional service on the road.

Duties

Safely operate a box truck, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws during route driving and delivery
Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques, forklift, pallet jack, or other material handling equipment while following safe lifting practices
Verify delivery orders, inspect vehicles before and after trips, and maintain accurate documentation of deliveries using mobile devices or onboard systems
Drive efficiently along assigned routes, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries while maintaining a high standard of customer service
Assist with warehouse operations as needed, including material handling, inventory management, and moving goods within the facility
Load and secure cargo properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve issues promptly

Experience

Previous experience in commercial driving or delivery driving with a focus on box trucks or similar vehicles
Warehouse experience including material handling equipment operation such as forklifts or pallet jacks is preferred
Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely and follow safe lifting practices in accordance with workplace weight handling standards
Knowledge of route driving best practices, adhering to traffic regulations, and DOT regulations governing commercial vehicles
Experience in personal vehicle delivery or courier services is advantageous
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate professionally with clients and team members
Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is a plus but not mandatory

About this Job

- Must have some box truck experience, clean MVR within 3 years

- Will be OTR for up to 3-4 weeks at a time

- Will be reimbursed for 2 nights of hotel expense of up to $300 a week

- Must be willing to start within 3 days of being hired
