Recreational Therapist / Activities Coordinator

Elan Manatee Assisted Living Facility in Bradenton, Florida, is excited to announce a unique opportunity to join our vibrant community. We are seeking an energetic, motivated, and inspiring Recreational Therapist, also known as our Activities Coordinator, to bring joy, engagement, and vitality to our residents’ lives. If you are passionate about making a positive impact and creating memorable experiences, we invite you to become a vital part of our team.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, organize, and lead a variety of recreational activities, outings, and music programs tailored to residents’ interests and abilities
Foster a lively, inclusive, and engaging environment that encourages socialization and participation
Assess residents’ preferences and needs to develop personalized activity plans
Collaborate with staff and family members to enhance residents’ quality of life
Maintain a safe and supportive environment during all activities
Track and document residents’ participation and progress in activities
Stay informed about new activity ideas, trends, and best practices in senior recreation

Skills and Qualifications:

Proven experience in recreational therapy, activities coordination, or a related field
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Creativity and enthusiasm to inspire and motivate seniors
Ability to plan and execute diverse activities for a senior population
Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature
Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in senior care
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in recreational therapy or related field preferred
