Position Overview
We are seeking a CNC Operator to support daily machining operations in a precision manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for operating CNC equipment, following setup instructions, loading and unloading parts, performing basic inspections, maintaining documentation, and supporting consistent production output.
This position is ideal for someone with hands-on CNC experience who can follow established processes, make basic machine adjustments, use precision measuring tools, and work carefully with small, delicate, or high-value components.
Essential Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machining equipment according to approved work instructions, setup sheets, routers, and production priorities.
- Load and unload parts, fixtures, tooling, and materials with proper care and handling.
- Follow established setup instructions and assist with job setups under the direction of a senior operator, lead, or Production Manager.
- Make basic machine adjustments, including offsets, tool changes, and minor control adjustments within approved guidelines.
- Read and follow technical drawings, part specifications, work orders, travelers, and inspection requirements.
- Perform in-process checks using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other standard inspection equipment.
- Identify and report dimensional issues, tool wear, surface defects, machine problems, or process concerns.
- Maintain accurate production records, inspection notes, job travelers, and required documentation.
- Handle fragile, high-value, or precision components according to required safety, quality, and material-handling procedures.
- Support repeatable production by following approved methods and escalating issues before parts are scrapped or reworked.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company and ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- Follow all posted safety, PPE, quality, traceability, and material-handling requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of CNC operating or machining experience preferred.
- Experience operating CNC equipment in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
- Ability to follow setup sheets, work instructions, travelers, and production documentation.
- Basic ability to read technical drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, or similar inspection tools.
- Ability to make basic offsets, tool changes, and machine adjustments within approved procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work carefully with precision parts.
- Ability to communicate machine issues, quality concerns, or material problems promptly.
- Ability to work full-time, on-site in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred
- Experience with Haas CNC equipment or similar CNC controls.
- Experience machining small, delicate, non-ferrous, high-value, or tight-tolerance parts.
- Familiarity with G-code edits at the machine control.
- Experience in precision optics, aerospace, defense, medical, or industrial manufacturing.
- Experience working in an ISO 9001, ITAR-regulated, or quality-controlled manufacturing environment.
- Basic familiarity with ERP, shop travelers, lot traceability, and production documentation.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This is a paid, full-time, on-site role in a manufacturing environment. The position requires regular work around CNC equipment, tooling, fixtures, materials, and precision components. The employee may spend the workday standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, loading parts, using measuring tools, and operating CNC equipment. The employee must follow all posted safety, PPE, quality, traceability, and facility procedures.

This is a paid position. Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and business needs. Pay: $26.33 - $31.70 per hour
