Full Job Description

Candidate must live in Florida; either Manatee or Sarasota County

Premier Dermatology provides billing and operational support to Dermatology Practices on the west coast of Florida. Our Practices provide general dermatology, Mohs surgery, Cosmetics, and Aesthetic services.

Available Position: Medical Patient Accounts Receivable Specialist

Under general direction, Position will:

Manage the billing and collection activities for patient accounts receivable
Reviews Patient Statements for accuracy and applies unallocated/overapplied payments as needed
Communicate with patients regarding overdue balances, billing concerns and/or payment arrangements; make outbound calls to patients; requests payment and advises of collection policies/procedures
Answer incoming phone calls, assist patients with billing questions, and route calls/messages appropriately
Interacts with external and internal customers, utilizes online sites to review claim status as needed to expedite the posting process
Runs Patient AR report and reviews accounts to determine account needs, update files with current billing information, reviews accounts for posting errors, and identify accounts eligible for Collections
Research and prepare patient refund requests as necessary
Identify and maintain Collection Agency spreadsheet
Monitor the collection agency portal and provide requested information as needed
Maintains patient confidentiality, adheres to HIPAA guidelines regarding PHI. Maintains corporate compliance guidelines and integrity to minimize the risk of fraud and abuse
Attends required safety training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, specific job-related hazards, and national patient safety goals
Ensures positive customer relations interactions
Manages difficult or emotional customer situations
Responds promptly to customer needs
Meets commitments
Carries out additional duties as assigned

Minimum Education, Experience, Training, and Licensures / Certifications / Registrations Required:

High school diploma or equivalent required
Clerical and computer (Outlook, Excel, EHR) experience preferred.
Three (3) years of recent medical billing experience preferred in:
Dermatology a plus
Knowledge of CPT/ ICD10 Coding
Knowledge of Insurance Plans- Commercial and Government
Ability to read and evaluate payer EOB's

Skills and Knowledge Required for position:

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Critical thinking, time management, and problem resolution.
Excellent organizational skills.

Working Conditions for position:

Candidates must live in Florida and live in either Manatee or Sarasota County.
Onsite office in Sarasota, FL
Office environment - casual business dress

The position is full-time, 8-hour shift
