Full Job Description

The Opportunity

For more than 35 years, Chris-Tel Construction has partnered with public and private clients across Florida to deliver award-winning projects through Construction Management, Design-Build, and General Contracting services. As we continue to expand our footprint and build on our reputation for quality, integrity, and long-term relationships, we're looking for a relationship-driven business development leader to help drive our continued growth throughout Florida.

As our Director of Market Expansion, you'll identify new markets, cultivate strategic relationships, uncover opportunities before they reach the public bid stage, and build a sustainable pipeline of qualified commercial construction projects. If you're passionate about opening doors, developing long-term partnerships, and making a measurable impact on a growing commercial construction company, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

Develop and execute strategies to expand Chris-Tel's presence throughout targeted Florida markets and commercial construction sectors.
Identify emerging markets, target accounts, and qualified growth opportunities aligned with the Company's strategic objectives.
Generate qualified opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and industry engagement.
Identify upcoming projects through industry relationships, market intelligence, and early project awareness before public solicitation whenever possible.
Build and leverage relationships with owners, developers, architects, engineers, owner's representatives, municipalities, and other key decision-makers.
Conduct discovery meetings to understand prospective clients' business needs, project pipelines, and upcoming opportunities.
Evaluate opportunities for strategic fit and collaborate with Executive Leadership on market priorities.
Maintain accurate prospect, client, and opportunity information within the Company's CRM.
Track pipeline activity and key performance indicators.
Represent Chris-Tel at networking events, conferences, industry associations, and community organizations while promoting the Company's services and reputation.

Who You Are

A proven business development professional with 5–7 years of commercial construction experience with a General Contractor.
Well connected within Florida's commercial construction industry with an established network of owners, developers, architects, engineers, municipalities, and industry partners.
Experienced identifying opportunities before they become publicly advertised.
Skilled at building relationships, opening doors, and generating qualified opportunities.
Knowledgeable in commercial construction delivery methods and the project development process.
Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with HubSpot or a similar CRM platform preferred.
Adobe Acrobat Professional experience is a plus.
