Position

Programmer I

Job Type

Full-time / Salary

In House/ Not Remote

Position Summary

Working with project management, drafters, fellow programmers & production staff, create 3D products, custom CNC router programs & production releases from shop drawings using Microvellum software in a timely manner.

Roles & Responsibilities

Review project scope of work with project manager and / or drafting manager
Create 3d products & custom CNC router programs to meet project needs using Microvellum
Produce necessary production release documentation using company provided software (Microvellum, Office 365)
Review & self-edit work to assure adherence to project requirements & company standards
Communicate with internal departments to assure smooth project flow
Assist Project Managers and drafters in managing project specific production documentation
Work with multiple project managers and projects concurrently
Use available resources to build your job-related skills and value in the department / company
Perform other related duties as necessary

Qualifications / Required Experience

Ability to read & interpret architectural drawings
Computer literate – ability to navigate using Windows & Microsoft applications. Desire & ability to learn additional applications as needed.
CAD / CAM experience
Basic knowledge of flat panel CNC routing & tooling
Basic knowledge of materials & methods used in commercial cabinetry / millwork manufacturing
Ability to think in 3D, to visualize how things go together
Flexibility – Job requires extended periods working in general office environment working on multiple projects concurrently.
Ability to use basic measuring tools – tape measure, architects scale, protractor, digital caliper.
Excellent math skills
Excellent communication skills
Excellent organization skills

Preferred Education / Skills

Microvellum Experience working with products, specification groups, machine tokens
Post-Secondary degree, diploma or certificate including CAD / CAM instruction
Post-Secondary degree, diploma or certificate in CAD drafting or construction / manufacturing field with CAD drafting coursework
Previous experience in commercial millwork, construction, or manufacturing industries
Knowledge of / experience with CNC Router operation
