Full Job Description

<Job Overview>
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial health of our organization by supporting various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. As an integral part of our finance department, you will assist with daily bookkeeping, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and data entry tasks, helping us maintain robust financial processes that drive our success. This position is ideal for someone eager to develop their accounting expertise within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

<Responsibilities>

Perform data entry and maintain accurate records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Workday.
Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
Reconcile general ledger accounts and balance sheets regularly to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and account analysis.
Prepare financial reports, summaries, and supporting documentation for internal review and external audits.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, tax preparation, and financial analysis projects.
Maintain meticulous records of transactions in accordance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance standards and governmental accounting regulations.

<Requirements>

Proven experience in corporate or governmental accounting environments with familiarity in public accounting practices preferred.
Strong understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and general ledger reconciliation.
Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Ceridian, PeopleSoft or similar platforms like SAGE or NETSUITE
Knowledge of payroll management systems such as Workday or UltiPro is highly desirable.
Experience with data entry tasks requiring high accuracy and attention to detail (10 key typing skills).
Familiarity with financial software used for accounts payable/receivable, account reconciliation, and budget analysis.
Excellent math skills combined with strong analytical abilities for account analysis and financial reporting.
