Assistant directors of admission (ADAs) travel the world to build meaningful relationships with remarkable students, families, educators, and counselors — and show them how SCAD is the ultimate destination to launch the future and career of their dreams.
As an ADA, you'll represent the No. 1 university in the Americas and Europe to prospective international students for our locations in Atlanta and Savannah, Ga. You’ll explain the unrivaled resources we offer our international students, including assistance with academics, employment, health care, housing, immigration, safety, scholarships, taxes, travel, and more. You’ll travel to school-specific events, information sessions, expedited decisions days, and other recruitment events to connect with prospective students and their support systems, while building ongoing professional and institutional relationships.
Part of an extraordinary team of SCADvocates, you’ll:
- Travel to effectively represent SCAD to prospective and applied students
- Issue immigration I-20 documents for all international incoming students
- Handle a caseload of international Rising Star students in Atlanta and Savannah
- Encourage submission of portfolios and prepares these portfolio submissions for scholarship, acceptance, and evaluation
- Prepare transcripts and other academic documentation for evaluation
As part of your administrative responsibilities, you’ll:
- Maintain a computer database for tracking student contact and information
- Produce evaluation documentation and send to students with a letter of explanation
- Enter credits into Banner and encourage payment of matriculation/enrollment fees
- Maintain contact with applicants through telecounseling, e-mails, and other forms of communication to ensure file completion
- Mail communications at specific intervals as required by the communication plan and answer incoming calls from applicants
- Prepare files of enrolled students for delivery to the registrar's office
To ensure prospective students don’t miss out on opportunities, you’ll:
- Follow up regularly by phone, e-mail, and in person to counsel student on completion of files, financial aid, scholarships, housing, transfer credits, registration, and more to resolve enrollment issues
- Encourage students to visit the university and meet with them during visits
- Participate in call-a-thons and LivePerson sessions to reach applicants
- Follow up with students who do not enroll and decline files as necessary
- Participate in special events and assist with recruitment functions
You’ll also perform other duties as assigned to ensure the success of the department and to carry out the mission of the university: To prepare talented students for creative professions though engaged teaching and learning in a positively oriented university environment.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Ability to travel extensively (about 40 weeks per year) and work flexible hours (i.e., evenings and weekends)
- Exceptional interpersonal communication and presentation skills
Certificates, licenses, and registrations:
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid passport
Travel required: More than 50%
Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
