ILA Employers Welfare Fund – Claims Processor
Location: Savannah, GA
The Claims Processor is responsible for the accurate and timely administration of disability, dental, vision, and hearing claims within a multi-employer benefits environment. This role serves as a key point of contact for participants and providers, ensuring claims are processed efficiently while maintaining clear communication and organized documentation.
The position plays an important role in supporting participant experience by verifying eligibility, resolving inquiries, and coordinating with providers and union representatives to ensure complete and accurate claim processing.
Key Responsibilities:
· Answer and manage incoming telephone inquiries, including verifying eligibility, benefits, claims status, disability questions, and required documentation
· Assist participants and providers via phone, email, fax, and in person (front desk support) with disability, dental, vision, and hearing claims inquiries
· Organize, scan, and maintain documentation daily, including accurate filing, pulling claims for processing, and re-filing as needed
· Process Disability, Dental, Vision, and Hearing claims with accuracy and timeliness
· Process incoming claims from both U.S. mail and electronic submissions, ensuring completeness and prompt handling
· Match drafts and Disability Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)
· Prepare and send correspondence to participants and medical providers
· Communicate with providers to support completion of disability claims, including obtaining missing information
· Coordinate with union locals to verify hours and confirm eligibility during disability periods, including validation of work status or suspension
· Generate and send weekly disability reports to GSA and USMX
· Travel to union halls as needed to support education and outreach efforts
Education & Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or coursework in healthcare administration, business, or a related field preferred
· Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in claims processing, benefits administration, or a related administrative role
· Experience in a multi-employer, union, or healthcare/benefits environment preferred
· Basic knowledge of claims processing, including disability, dental, vision, or related benefit plans preferred
· Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately review claims, documentation, and eligibility information
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain filing systems, and handle high-volume workloads
· Strong communication and customer service skills, including the ability to interact professionally with participants, providers, and union representatives
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Physical and Mental Requirements:
· Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods
· Ability to manage repetitive tasks with high accuracy
· Ability to handle high-volume workload and meet deadlines
· Strong focus and attention to detail

Pay: $33,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
