TITLE: Bunker Quantity Surveyors / Inspectors

Viswa Lab is a global leader in the field of marine fuel quantity & quality management. One of the core activities of Viswa Lab is performing quantitative inspections in the field of marine fuels on board ships by means of Bunker Quantity Survey (BQS). As bunker surveyor you will perform “on-site” measurements of the supplied marine fuel. Furthermore, you will be responsible for monitoring the complete process in accordance with the requirements of Viswa Lab Bunker Survey procedures.
Bunker Quantity Surveyors / Inspectors.
Responsibilities
· Conduct bunker survey in accordance to the local standards, client’s requirements as well as the company’s procedures.
· Updating and reporting to the Operation’s Coordinator in a timely manner.
- Contact shipping Agents/Representatives soonest upon receiving job authorization to update and confirm boarding arrangements.
- Dispatch/deliver survey report and sample promptly on completion of survey to Viswa Lab office.
- Acknowledge instructions regarding work matters.
- Review Quality Audit (QA) matters and discuss corrective actions.
· Maintain BQS equipment issued and ensure only calibrated equipment are used for inspection.
· Ensure full PPE and working equipment is sufficient and in proper working condition before performing field inspection works.
- Undertake specific projects or special assignments as directed by the Operations Executive/Operations Manager. Any other tasks as and when assigned by the Management.
This job will primarily cover ports around Savannah, Georgia and will also require travel to ports in Florida.
Qualifications
· Diploma holder in Nautical or Marine Engineering or Minimum High School Diploma Preferred College Degree.
· Marine Engineer or Deck Officer experience preferred.
· Shore working experience with a marine surveying company will be an advantage.
· Own reliable transport.
· Good numeracy, good knowledge of Microsoft Office, Good knowledge of the English language (verbal and written), Good communication ability and patient.
· TWIC card holder or eligible to apply.
· Good communication skills and willing to learn
· Experience in bunkering industry will be an added advantage
Due to the nature of the job, we expect that working outside regular office hours and in the weekends is no problem. We expect you are flexible, honest, stable, committed and have a firm personality.
