Full Job Description

Build the Infrastructure That Delivers Clean Water

Orthos Liquid Systems is a industry leader in the design and supply of specialized equipment for municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment facilities throughout North America.

Orthos provides filtration underdrain systems, filter nozzles, air scour systems, washwater troughs, and complete filtration solutions. Our equipment becomes part of critical public infrastructure that communities rely on every day.

We are seeking a Field Construction & Commissioning Engineer to serve as field representative during construction, equipment installation, startup, and commissioning.

About the Position

This is not a traditional office engineering position, nor is it a typical field service role where you spend months at one customer site repairing equipment.

Instead, you'll work on municipal water and wastewater treatment projects throughout North America, partnering with contractors, consulting engineers, owners, and operators to ensure our equipment is installed correctly and performs as designed.

Most assignments are 2–4 days in duration, giving you exposure to a variety of projects while maintaining a better work-life balance than traditional long-term construction assignments.

Primary Responsibilities

· Serve as a field representative on active construction projects.

· Provide installation guidance and support to contractors.

· Coordinate with contractors, consulting engineers, owners, and operators.

· Inspect installations for compliance with project drawings and company requirements.

· Identify and resolve field construction and installation issues.

· Perform equipment startup, commissioning, optimization, and performance testing.

· Prepare field reports, punch lists, and commissioning documentation.

· Conduct operator training.

· Provide engineering feedback for future product improvements.

· Travel throughout the United States and Canada supporting multiple projects.

Preferred Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related discipline preferred.

· Mechanical Engineering candidates with significant construction or field experience will also be considered.

· Minimum five years of experience in heavy civil construction, municipal water/wastewater infrastructure, industrial construction, or related industries.

· Experience working with contractors, consulting engineers, municipalities, and owners.

· Ability to interpret civil, structural, mechanical, and construction drawings and specifications.

· Experience with construction quality control, inspections, startup, commissioning, or project closeout.

· Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

· Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively.

· Must pass background/drug test

· Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs

· Ability to Climb up and down ladders
