Full Job Description

BCBA Clinical Operations Manager (Will consider both in-person or remote)

Elevate Your Impact Beyond a Traditional BCBA Role

ABA Journey is seeking an accomplished Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our leadership team as a BCBA Clinical Operations Manager.

Starting annual base salary: $95,000, with higher compensation considered based on clinical leadership and operational management experience.

Reporting to the Clinical Director, the BCBA Clinical Operations Manager will work closely with executive, clinical, and operational leadership across the organization.

This is a practicing BCBA position with expanded management authority—not an administrative-only role. The BCBA Clinical Operations Manager will remain actively involved in assessments, treatment planning, data analysis, caregiver training, RBT supervision, and client progress while also leading RBT performance, scheduling, and service continuity throughout Georgia.

The ideal candidate is a clinically strong BCBA who enjoys working with clients and developing RBTs but is ready to assume broader responsibility. Working closely with executive, clinical, and operational leadership, this individual will help shape how ABA Journey staffs cases, supports RBTs, maintains clinical quality, and delivers dependable services across the state.

Dependent on the qualifications, we may consider either an in person or remote BCBA for the position. However, the BCBA MUST live in the state of Georgia.

Key Responsibilities

RBT Management and Development

Provide clinical leadership in RBT staffing, scheduling, case assignments, and coverage decisions in collaboration with Operations
Exercise clinical judgment when matching RBTs with clients based on availability, location, experience, clinical needs, and family circumstances
Maintain visibility into RBT schedules, availability, open cases, understaffed cases, and anticipated staffing needs
Identify potential scheduling or coverage gaps and drive timely resolution with Operations, case BCBAs, and other appropriate team members
Develop coverage and reassignment recommendations when an RBT is absent, resigns, changes availability, or is no longer an appropriate fit for a case
Take an active role in resolving callouts, missed sessions, scheduling conflicts, and other time-sensitive service concerns
Ensure clear communication among BCBAs, Operations, intake staff, RBTs, and other stakeholders regarding staffing and scheduling matters
Identify patterns affecting service continuity and drive improvements in scheduling, coverage, communication, and follow-through
Maintain accountability for assigned staffing and scheduling matters through resolution
Contribute to the timely staffing of new clients and the consistent delivery of services to existing clients

Scheduling and Service Continuity

Coordinate RBT scheduling, availability, case assignments, and coverage throughout Georgia
Work with Operations to match RBTs with clients based on location, availability, experience, clinical needs, and family circumstances
Monitor schedules proactively and address potential gaps before they result in interruptions to client services
Coordinate timely coverage when an RBT is absent, resigns, changes availability, or is no longer an appropriate fit for a case
Respond decisively to callouts, scheduling conflicts, missed sessions, communication concerns, and other time-sensitive staffing issues
Track open cases, understaffed cases, RBT availability, and anticipated staffing needs
Maintain clear communication with BCBAs, Operations, intake staff, RBTs, and other stakeholders regarding scheduling and staffing changes
Develop more effective systems for scheduling, coverage, staff communication, and follow-through
Help ensure that new clients are staffed efficiently and that existing clients receive consistent, dependable services

Clinical Quality and Oversight

Partner with case-assigned BCBAs to ensure that RBT performance management and clinical direction remain aligned
Monitor treatment fidelity, data collection, session documentation, professional conduct, and implementation of behavior intervention plans
Ensure that RBT supervision is completed and documented in accordance with current BACB, payer, state, and company requirements
Review clinical and operational trends to identify concerns requiring additional training, supervision, or corrective action
Lead or assist with RBT trainings, competency development, clinical refreshers, and team-development initiatives
Support BCBAs in addressing recurring RBT concerns and barriers affecting client progress
Promote consistent clinical and professional standards across different cases, service areas, and teams
Escalate significant clinical, ethical, safety, staffing, or compliance concerns to the appropriate leadership team member
Participate in quality-improvement initiatives designed to strengthen client outcomes and the overall consistency of ABA Journey’s services

BCBA Clinical Responsibilities

To remain connected to clinical care, the BCBA Clinical Operations Manager will also maintain a limited and manageable caseload. Responsibilities may include:

Conducting functional behavior assessments, skill assessments, and reassessments
Developing individualized treatment plans and behavior intervention programs
Analyzing client data and modifying programming based on progress and clinical need
Providing clinical supervision and direction to RBTs assigned to the manager’s cases
Conducting caregiver training and communicating with families regarding progress, goals, and concerns
Completing session notes, progress reports, authorization materials, and other required documentation accurately and on time
Collaborating with caregivers, educators, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and other members of the treatment team
Maintaining compliance with BACB ethical standards, Georgia requirements, payer requirements, HIPAA, and ABA Journey policies

The successful BCBA Clinical Operations Manager will create measurable improvements in:

RBT accountability, performance, engagement, and retention
Schedule stability and dependable client coverage
Timeliness and quality of RBT documentation
Communication between RBTs, BCBAs, Operations, and families
Speed and effectiveness in resolving staffing and performance concerns
Treatment fidelity and consistency across cases
Successful staffing and launch of new client services
Compliance with supervision, documentation, payer, and company requirements

Required Qualifications

Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification in good standing
Active Georgia Behavior Analyst license
Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, psychology, education, or a related field
Demonstrated success supervising, coaching, training, and developing RBTs
Strong understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis, clinical supervision, treatment planning, data analysis, and caregiver training
Ability to address performance, attendance, communication, and accountability concerns directly and professionally
Exceptional organizational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage competing priorities and respond calmly and decisively to time-sensitive issues
Strong follow-through and the ability to take ownership of an issue until it is resolved
Knowledge of BACB ethical standards and applicable clinical, payer, and documentation requirements
Ability to work independently while maintaining close communication with leadership
Must reside in Georgia

Preferred Qualifications

Previous responsibility for managing RBT employees beyond routine case supervision
Experience with RBT scheduling, staffing, coverage, or workforce coordination
Experience participating in employee onboarding, performance management, or corrective-action processes
Experience improving systems within a growing ABA organization
Experience providing remote or hybrid clinical leadership across multiple Georgia service areas
