About VeteranDegrees
VeteranDegrees is dedicated to helping veterans and military-affiliated students access high-quality flexible education. We partner with universities, Veterans Service Organizations (VSOs), and community leaders to connect service members with educational opportunities that maximize their earned VA education benefits.
As we continue expanding nationwide, we're looking for a passionate Veteran Community Outreach Manager to help grow our network of trusted veteran partners across the U.S. while guiding prospective students toward the right educational pathways.
About the Role
VeteranDegrees is seeking a mission-driven Community Outreach Manager (U.S. Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply) to build and strengthen relationships with Veterans Service Organizations (VSOs), military-affiliated nonprofits, community organizations, and other veteran-serving partners.
This role is instrumental in expanding VeteranDegrees' presence in the veteran education ecosystem. You'll develop strategic partnerships that generate referrals, educate veterans on higher education opportunities and VA education benefits, and help prospective students navigate their educational journey.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who enjoys building relationships, engaging with the veteran community, and directly helping veterans achieve their education and career goals.
Key Responsibilities
Partnership Development & Referral Growth
- Develop and maintain relationships with Veterans Service Organizations (VSOs), military-affiliated nonprofits, community organizations, employers, and other referral partners.
- Identify and cultivate new partnership opportunities that expand VeteranDegrees' reach within the veteran community.
- Build a sustainable referral network that consistently generates prospective veteran student leads.
- Maintain regular communication with partners to strengthen relationships and maximize referral outcomes.
Sales & Education Consultation
- Contact prospective veteran students through phone calls, text messages, emails, and virtual meetings in a timely manner.
- Conduct personalized education consultations to understand each student's military background, career goals, and educational needs.
- Educate prospective students on VA education benefits, university partners, academic programs, admissions requirements, and enrollment processes.
- Recommend education pathways that align with each student's goals and available benefits.
- Build trust through consultative conversations and provide ongoing guidance throughout the enrollment journey.
- Maintain consistent follow-up with prospective students to nurture leads and improve conversion rates.
- Meet individual goals for consultations, qualified leads, applications, and enrollments.
Community Engagement & Brand Representation
- Represent VeteranDegrees at veteran-focused events, conferences, career fairs, workshops, military transition events, and networking opportunities.
- Co-host partner information sessions, webinars, and community outreach events.
- Build trust within the veteran community through a value-driven, education-first approach rather than a sales-focused approach.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource for veterans seeking information about educational opportunities and VA education benefits.
