TITLE: LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER (CBT Focus)

LOCATION: GREAT NECK, NY

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: W2, FULL-TIME/ IN- PERSON

COMPENSATION: $140,000 - $180,000 ANNUALLY

WHAT WE DO:

The Bio Behavioral Institute (BBI) is an outpatient Mental Health clinic; we specialize in treating OCD and Related Disorders including BDD, Body Focused Repetitive Disorders, Anxiety, Mood, Trauma, Autism Spectrum, and other co-morbid conditions. At BBI, we’re more than just a clinic; we’re a movement for change. For over 45 years, we’ve pioneered the treatment of OCD, BDD, and anxiety-related disorders, earning a reputation as a thought leader in the space. Through cutting-edge research and personalized care, we’ve helped over 4,000 individuals lead richer, more fulfilling lives.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, you will provide evidence-based care to individuals with OCD, anxiety, and related disorders. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, your role will include delivering individual, group, family, and couples therapy, as well as participating in our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Half your time will involve collaborating with a team of therapists to treat shared IOP patients. When clinically appropriate exposure exercises can involve some out of office and home visits guiding patients through real-world situations that trigger their symptoms and working through them in real time, which we believe leads to better outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

● Conduct Individual and Group Therapy: Utilize evidence-based practices, such as CBT, ERP, DBT, ACT, CPT, CBT-ED, and PE, to treat individuals with OCD, BDD, anxiety, and related disorders. Applicants need a strong foundation in CBT and a directive approach with patients.

● Participate in the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): Provide therapeutic interventions for higher-severity cases, ensuring optimal patient outcomes. A significant part of this is engaging in ERP therapy both in and out of the clinic

● Comprehensive Patient Assessments: Perform diagnostic evaluations, develop treatment plans, and monitor progress over time.

● Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work alongside other clinicians and administrative staff to ensure coordinated care and optimal treatment outcomes.

● Contribute to Program Development: Assist in refining and improving treatment protocols based on the latest research and clinical outcomes.

● Mentorship and Supervision: Depending on experience, provide guidance and supervision to early-career clinicians or trainees.

● Engage in Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest research and advancements in treating OCD and related disorders.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

Required Qualifications and Skills:

● Education: Masters in Social Work from an accredited program.

● Licensure: Must hold a current LCSW license in the state of New York. Multiple state licenses are a plus.

● Clinical Experience: Demonstrated experience with a CBT forward approach to care using evidence-based methods.

● Therapeutic Expertise: Familiarity with other evidence based approaches as evidenced by clinical work, supervision, trainings, or presentations. Examples include ERP, DBT, ACT, CPT, PE or TF-CBT for trauma.

● Interest in OCD and Related Disorders: Expressed dedication to treating OCD and related disorders, Eating Disorders, ASD, Mood Disorders, Anxiety, or Body Image Disorders. And an interest in addressing the co-morbid interactions between these.

● Adaptability: Comfortable working with higher-severity populations and going out in the community to provide ERP treatment for patients.

● Strong Communication Skills: Ability to effectively engage with patients, families, and colleagues in a professional and empathetic manner.

● Experience with High-Acuity Patients: Background in hospitals, residential, or inpatient settings treating complex disorders such as eating disorders, personality disorders, or autism spectrum disorders.

● Connections to Evidenced Based Placements: Training at institutions with an emphasis on evidence based CBT.

● Collaborative Spirit: Demonstrated ability to thrive in a team-oriented clinical environment.

● Commitment to Evidence-Based Practice: Proficiency in implementing and adapting the latest research to clinical settings.
