THIS WHO YOU MIGHT BECOME: The Director of Health Services (DHS) is a full-time, 35-hour a week, exempt, and salary position who is responsible for the day-to-day functioning of the health office and delivery of health care services to all campus-based youth (Qualified Residential Treatment Program & Day Service students, others as assigned). They ensure proper Health Office staffing, coverage, and on-call capacity to serve LaSalle’s 24/7 campus environment and in accordance with all current LSS and pertinent NYS and/ or federal policy. The DHS supports all agency initiatives around health, wellness, and trauma-informed care for youth. They are a member and contributor to the Director’s Leadership Team. The DHS collaborates with other department heads to ensure highly effective and therapeutic care for youth at LaSalle. They supervise and manage all professional and paraprofessional staff in the health office including, RNs, LPNs, the Medical Transporter, the Medicaid Managed Care Liaison, and others as assigned. The DHS oversees and ensures staff activity in the health office is compliant with all relevant Office of Children and Family Services, Special Education, 29i, Department of Health, and any other relevant regulatory guidance. They provide coverage and clinical duties in the health office as needed.

THIS IS WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Hiring, Supervision, Evaluation, Scheduling and Management of entire Health Office staff.
Develop and maintain all manuals, guidelines and procedures needed to ensure agency regulatory compliance.
Oversee and coordinate the effective operation of health care services provided to youth enrolled in all campus-based programming through the development and implementation of procedures and practices to be used across the agency, coordinating when necessary, with other services, directors, and managers.
Assist HR with the delivery of employee health services as assigned.
Work collaboratively with agency pediatric and psychiatric providers to ensure integrated medical/behavioral health care.
Manage relationships and contracts with medical providers, supplies and health care organizations as necessary to meet the health care needs of youth.
Develop and deliver medication administration training to agency staff.
Provide clinical duties as needed/assigned.

THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED:

Valid NYS RN License.
5 or more years nursing experience in congregate care setting.
Leadership and supervision skills .
PREFERRED: Familiarity with Office of Children and Family Service (OCFS), Department of Health (DOH), 29i, State Education Department (SED), Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) and other relevant regulations as they pertain to the provision of health services to youth enrolled in campus-based services.
PREFERRED: BSN, MSN or equivalent degree.

THIS IS WHO YOU ARE:

Must possess excellent clinical, leadership, and supervisory skills.
Must have superior assessment skills, ability to triage medical emergencies.
Demonstrate mastery of skills in performing routine nursing procedures.
Must be knowledgeable regarding medication management.
Must possess and utilize effective communication skills; must have basic computer knowledge, including use of electronic medical record; familiarity with medical billing.
Must have the ability to manage time and to work in a calm, collaborative, and efficient manner.

THIS IS WHAT WE OFFER:

Start at 10 days off for vacation, 13 paid holidays a year, 3 personal days, 12 sick days per year and other leave time available dependent on the circumstances.
