Maintenance Technician
Ross Precision Manufacturing, a contract manufacturer serving the aerospace, power generation, and high alloy melting industries, is looking for a hard-working entry-level employee who is willing to develop their mechanical aptitude and learn the industrial machine maintenance trade.
GENERAL SUMMARY
Repairs and maintains mechanical and hydraulic components of production machines and equipment such as metal fabricating machine tools, material handling system, and automated lubrication system by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manufacturing:
· Actively demonstrates compliance to ISO 9001 and AS 9100, Quality System requirements in day to day operations.
· Visually inspects and listens to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions.
· Dismantles machines and equipment to gain access to problem area.
· Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.
· Removes and replaces worn or defective parts of drive mechanism or hydraulic system.
· Realigns and adjusts components such as spindles and clutches.
· Locates damaged air and hydraulic pipes on machine, and measures, cuts, threads, and installs new pipe.
· Cleans and lubricates parts, shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery.
· Starts machines and equipment to test operation following repair.
· Repairs or replaces defective parts.
· Sets up and operates metalworking tools such as lathe, drill press, or grinder, to make or repair parts.
· Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
· Develops and maintains preventative maintenance program for dedicated critical machines.
· Estimates and orders shop parts and subcontractors to be used in installations and daily maintenance.
· Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
· Develops and maintains preventative maintenance program for dedicated critical machines.
· Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
· Pro-actively contributes to company's overall mission and quality policy through teamwork, communication and organizational processes.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs other related duties as requested.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
· One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Must be a US citizen.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
· Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to implement long and short range goals for the organization, taking into consideration the mission of the organization.
- Ability to relate to people at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence and memos.
