Job Title: School Tax Processing Clerk
Position Type: Temporary
Duration: 7 Weeks (Subject to Change)
Pay: $19 - $22.01/hr

Two Recent Professional References are required for this role. Candidates who do not have references will not be consider for this position.

Summary

Our client in Albany, NY is seeking temporary School Tax Processing Clerks to assist with an annual school tax processing project. This is a fast-paced, high-volume assignment that involves manually processing mailed tax payments and posting payments into an in-house tax collection application.

Due to the time-sensitive nature of school tax collection, candidates must be able to work efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Training and written documentation with visual aids will be provided on the first day.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Confirm that tax payment checks are completed correctly and completely.
Group tax payment stubs and checks for processing.
Perform data lookups.
Enter payment information into an in-house tax collection application.
Process school tax payments.
Prepare bank deposits.
Print payment receipts.
Reconcile bank deposits with batch reports.

Employees can expect to process approximately 300 payments per day throughout the duration of the project.

Required Qualifications:

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Basic computer skills and the ability to learn an in-house application.
Ability to follow written instructions and established procedures.
Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Ability to remain focused while performing repetitive work.
Confidence to ask questions when clarification is needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience with data entry, payment processing, clerical, or administrative work.
Experience using an adding machine with a tape.

Candidates are required to have Two Recent Professional References. Any candidates that do not have references will not be consider for the role.
