Full Job Description

⭐⭐⭐ Tax Accountant ⭐⭐⭐

Pay Rate: $60,000–$85,000/year; Based on experience
Location: Clifton Park, NY (On-site)
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of tax accounting experience required
Certification: Enrolled Agent (EA) designation preferred, but not required

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Tax Accountant to join its growing team in the Clifton Park, NY, area. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working directly with clients, preparing tax returns, and helping individuals and businesses navigate tax planning and compliance.

Responsibilities of the Tax Accountant will include:

Prepare and file accurate federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses.
Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
Stay current on changes in tax legislation and apply updates appropriately.
Identify tax-saving opportunities and provide strategic tax planning recommendations.
Communicate with clients to gather financial information and answer tax-related questions.
Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
Manage multiple client engagements while meeting filing deadlines and project timelines.
Utilize tax preparation and bookkeeping software to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Collaborate with team members to provide exceptional client service and support.

Qualifications for the role of Tax Accountant:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax accounting or a similar role.
Enrolled Agent (EA) designation is preferred but not required.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with tax preparation software and Microsoft Office applications.
