Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and energetic Fabricator/Structural Welder to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, assembling, and welding metal structures and components with precision and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise in various welding techniques, blueprint interpretation, and metal fabrication will be essential to delivering high-quality projects on time. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction and fabrication projects, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and hands-on skills to contribute to our company's success.

Duties

Read and interpret detailed technical drawings, blueprints, and fabrication shop drawings to ensure accurate assembly and welding of metal structures.
Perform structural welding using FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) techniques in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards.
Measure and mark materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise cuts and fits.
Operate power tools, plasma cutters, gas metal arc welding equipment, hand tools, and machining tools for cutting, shaping, and assembling sheet metal and other metal materials.
Fabricate components by cutting, welding, grinding, assembling, and finishing metal parts according to specifications.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols related to construction site practices, crane operation safety, and handling of heavy materials.
Collaborate with team members on construction site projects or in the fabrication shop to meet project deadlines while ensuring quality standards are upheld.

Skills

Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of structural steel fabrication processes.
Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints and interpreting technical drawings accurately.
Skilled in various welding techniques including FCAW, MIG welding, TIG welding, SMAW, and welding with adherence to AWS standards.
Experience operating cranes, measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers, power tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment.
Mechanical knowledge of metal materials, sheet metal fabrication, assembly processes, and mechanical blueprint interpretation.
Ability to perform shop math accurately for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks.
Strong understanding of safety protocols related to construction sites and fabrication environments; committed to maintaining a safe workspace at all times.
Familiarity with construction experience involving structural steel or metal components; capable of working with sheet metal fabrication techniques.
