Department: Managed Services | Reports to: Service Delivery Manager / NOC Lead | Employment Type: Full-Time | Work Arrangement: On-site with local client travel
About Totally Networked, Inc.
Totally Networked, Inc. is a managed service provider (MSP) delivering IT infrastructure, network, and security support to small and mid-sized businesses. We manage our clients' networks, servers, endpoints, and cloud environments so they can focus on running their business. We're looking for a Level 2 Network Technician/Administrator to join our service delivery team and help keep client environments secure, reliable, and running smoothly.
Position Summary
The Level 2 Network Technician/Administrator serves as an escalation point for Level 1 support, handling more complex network, server, and systems issues across multiple client environments. This role combines hands-on troubleshooting with proactive network administration, working within our ticketing and remote monitoring systems to resolve issues efficiently and identify opportunities to improve client environments. This is a strong next step for a technician ready to grow into senior engineering or network architecture roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Tier 2 escalation for network, server, and workstation issues from the Service Desk, resolving tickets within SLA.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and VPNs across client networks.
- Administer Windows Server environments including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, and file/print services.
- Support Microsoft 365 / Azure AD administration, including user provisioning, licensing, and email/Exchange Online issues.
- Monitor client networks and systems via RMM and PSA tools (e.g., ConnectWise, Datto, Kaseya); respond to and remediate alerts.
- Perform server, network, and endpoint patching, maintenance, and backup verification on a scheduled basis.
- Diagnose and resolve connectivity, performance, and security issues, escalating to Level 3 engineering when needed.
- Document network configurations, procedures, and resolutions in the client knowledge base and ticketing system.
- Assist with network design, upgrades, and new client onboarding projects, including on-site installations.
- Maintain and enforce security best practices, including firewall rules, endpoint protection, and patch compliance.
- Provide clear communication and a professional client experience during on-site visits and remote sessions.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergency support.
Required Qualifications
- 4-8 years of experience in network administration or IT support, ideally within an MSP or multi-client environment.
- Solid working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, VLANs, routing, switching, and firewall configuration.
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365/Azure AD administration.
- Experience with RMM and PSA platforms (e.g., ConnectWise, Datto, Kaseya, Autotask, or similar).
- Familiarity with firewall/security appliances (e.g., SonicWall, Fortinet, Meraki, Ubiquiti).
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local client site visits.
- CompTIA Network+ and Security+ certifications (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Qualifications
- CCNA, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or similar vendor certifications.
- Experience with virtualization platforms (Hyper-V, VMware) and cloud environments (Azure, AWS).
- Experience with VoIP systems, backup/disaster recovery solutions, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools.
- Prior MSP experience supporting multiple clients across varied industries.
