These positions will provide direct service and evaluations to students from PreK, elementary and/or high school. Minimum Requirements are: appropriate Degree in Communications Sciences Disorders, or Speech-Language Pathology; and a current state license (or be eligible for same) in the state of NE, CCC-SLP preferred.
Extra pay for CFY year (15% on base) and National Certification (30% on base)
Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist

Education Level and Certification: Master’s Degree in speech-language pathology; Nebraska Teaching Certificate with Speech Language Pathology Endorsement; Nebraska Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist and such other licensures or certifications as may be required by DHHS, NDE, and/or the ESU
Reports To: Director of Special Education
Terms of Employment: 191 days, including 6 summer service days / Schedule 4 / Salary based on education and years of experience

Job Responsibilities:

Provide direct instruction, consultation, and collaboration for students with
-
communication disorders, as identified by the IFSP and IEP
-
Perform assessments to gather eligibility and present-level data to inform programming and instruction
-
Develop and implement goals, objectives, and service schedules for student IFSPs and IEPs. Complete required special education paperwork from the referral process through multidisciplinary team meetings.

Monitor student IFSP and IEP progress, collect, and report data on progress toward goals and objectives
-
Participate in student IFSP, IEP, and MDT meetings, or complete the appropriate excusal form prior to the meeting if unable to attend in person or remotely

Coordinate and collaborate with special education teachers, general education teachers, families, and related service providers regarding student needs

Prepare and adapt therapeutic materials for instructional use
-
Provide individualized instruction in techniques for more effective student communication
-
Develop specific communication-related strategies, modifications, and accommodations according to individual student needs
-
Educate and coach communication partners about communication-related strategies, modifications, and accommodations according to individual student needs
-
Utilize augmentative and alternative communication systems and strategies according to individual student needs and train communication partners as necessary

Conduct communication screenings as part of the pre-referral process and provide recommendations to the team

Participate in professional development activities as related to professional duties and goals, including but not limited to attending conferences and workshops, professional learning communities, regional offerings, and online training

Participate in early intervention training and fidelity measurements as required

Supervise and provide clinical direction to Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLP-A) and/or Communication Assistants
-
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education.

Professional exemption: The employee has a primary duty of performing work requiring knowledge of an advanced type in a field of science or learning customarily acquired by a prolonged course of specialized intellectual instruction and study or has a primary duty of teaching, tutoring, instructing, or lecturing in the activity of imparting knowledge and is employed and engaged in this activity as a teacher.
