Brace Steel is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to oversee on-site rebar fabrication operations.
This is a hands-on field leadership position with extensive travel. The Site Superintendent will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of a field fabrication operation, ensuring the site is properly staffed, organized, safe, productive, and meeting production, cost, and customer requirements.
You will be the primary on-site leader responsible for coordinating crews, production flow, equipment use, material handling, safety, cost control, and communication with project leadership.
This position requires someone who understands that successful field operations are about more than simply producing rebar. You must be able to manage people, equipment, material flow, changing priorities, production targets, and the costs associated with production, all while meeting customer expectations.
We are looking for someone capable of taking ownership of a field operation.
Key Responsibilities
The Site Superintendent will be responsible for:
- Overseeing Brace Steel's on-site rebar fabrication operation at assigned project locations
- Leading and managing fabrication crews and field personnel on a daily basis
- Ensuring the site is properly staffed based on production requirements, schedules, and cost efficiency targets
- Executing daily and weekly production goals while maintaining awareness of labor, equipment, and material costs
- Monitoring and managing production costs, labor efficiency, and equipment utilization to ensure the operation remains within budget expectations
- Identifying production bottlenecks and implementing field-level solutions that improve both output and cost efficiency
- Ensuring material moves efficiently from receiving through fabrication and into organized finished inventory
- Coordinating mobilization and demobilization activities on site
- Managing equipment, tooling, consumables, and coordinating maintenance needs while controlling unnecessary expense
- Ensuring equipment is used properly and downtime is minimized to avoid cost overruns
- Maintaining jobsite organization, housekeeping, material storage, and workflow efficiency
- Working with project management and detailing personnel to ensure accurate and timely information flow to the field
- Adjusting priorities when drawings, schedules, or customer requirements change
- Communicating directly with project leadership and customers regarding production, schedule, field conditions, and cost-related impacts
- Maintaining accurate production, labor tracking, and operational reporting
- Enforcing Brace Steel safety policies and all jobsite safety requirements
- Conducting daily field oversight and identifying opportunities for improvement in productivity and cost control
- Supporting standardized field procedures across Brace Steel operations
- Training and developing foremen and crew leaders
- Holding crews accountable for production, safety, organization, performance, and efficient use of resources
- Supporting company leadership in successful project execution, delivery, and cost performance
What We're Looking For
This is not an entry-level supervisory position.
The ideal candidate has significant experience in rebar fabrication operations and understands how a high-volume fabrication site should function, including how to manage production and associated costs.
Strong candidates may have backgrounds such as:
- Rebar Fabrication Superintendent
- Rebar Shop Superintendent
- Rebar Production Supervisor
- Rebar Operations Supervisor
- Senior Rebar Foreman
- Rebar Plant Supervisor
- Similar leadership experience within reinforcing steel or large-scale concrete construction
Preferred Experience
- Significant hands-on experience in rebar fabrication
- Experience supervising fabrication employees and field crews
- Experience managing high-volume rebar production
- Strong understanding of rebar cutting, bending, tagging, bundling, staging, and material handling
- Knowledge of fabrication equipment and basic maintenance practices
- Experience operating or coordinating forklifts, telehandlers, cranes, or similar equipment
- Ability to read and understand rebar shop drawings, bar lists, fabrication tags, and production schedules
- Experience managing labor, equipment, and production costs in a field environment
- Experience planning manpower around changing production requirements and budget constraints
- Strong understanding of jobsite safety practices
- Experience working on large industrial or commercial construction projects is highly desirable
- Experience leading multiple crews or foremen is strongly preferred

Travel Requirements
Extensive travel is required.
Brace Steel's fabrication operations are established directly on major construction projects throughout the United States.
This is not a position where travel consists primarily of occasional short visits. The Site Superintendent should be comfortable spending extended periods at active project locations.
Projects may last several months or longer, and travel between projects will be required as company needs dictate.

Minimum Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience within rebar fabrication or reinforcing steel operations
- Demonstrated experience supervising fabrication personnel
- Strong knowledge of rebar fabrication processes and equipment
- Ability to manage production while controlling field costs
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively and remain at project locations for extended periods
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work in active outdoor construction and fabrication environments
Preferred Qualifications
- 5–7+ years of rebar fabrication or reinforcing steel experience
- 2+ years in a supervisory, foreman, or superintendent role
- Experience leading multiple crews or work areas
- Experience managing production budgets or field cost performance
- Experience with large industrial construction projects
- Experience mobilizing or working on temporary or field-based fabrication operations
- OSHA 30 or similar construction safety training
- Experience with high-volume, schedule-driven fabrication
