Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic Hospice Chaplain and Bereavement Coordinator to join our dedicated team. This vital role combines spiritual guidance, pastoral counseling, and bereavement support to patients, families, and staff during some of life’s most challenging moments. As a key leader in our hospice organization, you will provide religious leadership, facilitate spiritual care, and coordinate bereavement programs that foster healing, hope, and resilience. Your energetic approach will inspire comfort and connection, ensuring that every individual receives personalized spiritual support.

Duties

Offer spiritual guidance and pastoral counseling to patients facing terminal illness, their families, and staff members, respecting diverse cultural backgrounds.
Lead religious services, prayer sessions, and educational teachings on religious studies to nurture faith and hope during end-of-life care.
Develop and implement comprehensive bereavement programs that include grief counseling, support groups, and community outreach initiatives.
Provide crisis intervention and conflict management for families experiencing grief or emotional distress; serve as a mentor for staff in spiritual matters.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic hospice care that integrates spiritual needs with medical treatment plans.
Plan and coordinate community events focused on faith-based healing, remembrance, and support for grieving families.

Experience

Proven experience working as a clergyperson or in religious leadership within a hospice organization.
Strong background in hospice care, terminal illness counseling, and working with culturally diverse communities.
Extensive knowledge of biblical theology, pastoral theology, and religious teaching methods.
Demonstrated skills in public speaking, event planning, crisis intervention, and conflict management.
Experience mentoring staff or volunteers in spiritual caregiving roles; familiarity with crisis management protocols is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to write clearly and deliver compelling presentations; proficiency in working with families during times of grief is essential.
Ability to work effectively within a team environment while managing multiple responsibilities with compassion and professionalism.
