Full Job Description

Role Overview: This position will support the Controller and Finance team by owing core transactional accounting, reconciliations, accounting schedules, and month-end close support across multiple operating entities and locations. This role is intended for a hands-on accounting professional who can independently investigate discrepancies, maintain accurate and well-documented records, and help improve accounting processes and internal controls. The position will work closely with operations, HR/payroll, AP, and leadership while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and attention to detail.

Core Responsibilities:

Monthly Close Process

· Manage and execute timely and accurate month end close process
· Reconcile balance sheets accounts monthly
· Track prepaid expenses, accruals, depreciation, payroll allocations, and intercompany activity.
· Prepare/oversee journal entries: accruals, prepaid amortizations, depreciation, payroll allocations, intercompany transactions, etc.

Maintain the General Ledger and Chart of Accounts

· Owns the integrity of the GL and financial data across entities
· Ensure standardization of the COA structure, classing, and mapping
· Proactively ensures proper coding and will identify misclassification
· Recommend COA revisions as the company scales, acquires new companies, and add service lines

Building and Improve Scalable Accounting Processes

· Identify opportunities to streamline existing accounting processes and will proactively work to institute new SOPs to ensure integrity of financial data
· Work with the Controller to maintain and Create SOPs for month-end close, journal entries, expense policies, treasury, etc.
· Help evaluate, roll out, and integrate systems such as AP and Expense management tools and will assist in the transition

Basic Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Certified Public Bookkeeping
3-5 years of experience
Strong QuickBooks online experience and NetSuite or similar experience strongly desired
Strong Excel Skills
Experience working in multi-entity bookkeeping

· Interest in healthcare or hospice industry-highly desired

Preferred Skills:

· Basic Healthcare metrics knowledge
· Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
· Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
· Eagerness to learn
· Clear, effective communication skills-written and verbal

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods.
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
· Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically

Work Environment:

· Employment Type: Full-time position
· Location: Role is based at Uplift Hospice’s Corporate Office in Scottsdale, AZ.
· While in office presence is preferred, hybrid arrangements may be considered for highly qualified candidates.
· Work Environment: Standard office setting with prolonged periods of computer uses and screen time.
· Work schedule may include evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts depending on patient needs.
· Travel: Minimal travel required, but occasional travel may be necessary for team meetings, training, or site visits.

· Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available for this position

Pay: $50,000.00 - $62,500.00 per year
