GENERAL SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Quality Improvement, the Infection Control/ Health & Safety Nurse coordinates the Employee Health and Safety Program and as Infection Control Coordinator is assigned the responsibility of supervising the multiple facets of the Infection Control Program.
Assigned duties are implemented in a manner appropriate to the age-specific needs of the patients served.

EDUCATION:
Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of two (2) years experience as a Registered Nurse required.
SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a current license as a Registered Nurse issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nurse Examiners required.
Must be cleared by PA State Police criminal history check.
Good written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills required for effective communication with staff, management and external customers.
Must ensure confidentiality of resident/employee function and reports.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Sedentary work: duties require exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally (approximately 10-33% of shift) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, and pull articles such as files.
Position requires ability to transport self throughout facility.
ACCIDENT OR HEALTH HAZARDS:
Occasional exposure to communicable diseases and blood/body substances.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in a well-lit office or nursing unit.
