Full Job Description

Job Title: Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Department: Special Education

Reports to: Chief of Student Support Services
Building/School: District wide

Salary: Pursuant to the terms of the Act 93 Compensation Plan

Date: July 1, 2026

Primary Function

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) provides districtwide behavioral consultation and support for students with disabilities and students requiring intensive behavioral interventions. The BCBA collaborates with administrators, teachers, related service providers, and families to develop and implement evidence-based behavioral and instructional supports that promote student success across educational settings. Responsibilities include conducting behavioral assessments, developing individualized intervention plans, providing staff coaching and professional development, supporting crisis prevention and intervention, and ensuring implementation of evidence-based practices in accordance with IDEA, Pennsylvania regulations, and district procedures.

Responsibilities

Provide district-wide behavioral consultation and direct BCBA services to students with disabilities and those requiring intensive behavioral supports, collaborating with school teams to promote positive educational outcomes.
Support Special Education Supervisors and building administrators in analyzing behavioral trends, identifying systemic needs, and developing proactive interventions that improve student outcomes across district programs.
Conduct behavioral assessments, including Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs), Functional Analyses, behavioral observations, and other evaluations, to identify factors impacting student performance and guide evidence-based interventions.
Develop, implement, monitor, and revise individualized Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and other behavioral interventions using student performance data and evidence-based practices.
Provide ongoing coaching, consultation, and professional development to teachers, paraprofessionals, administrators, and related service providers in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), positive behavior supports, classroom management, crisis prevention, de-escalation, and data-based decision making.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including administrators, special education staff, related service providers, families, and outside agencies, to develop comprehensive programming that supports students' academic, behavioral, communication, social-emotional, and functional needs.
Collect, analyze, and interpret behavioral and educational data to evaluate intervention effectiveness, monitor student progress, ensure implementation fidelity, and recommend instructional or behavioral modifications.
Support school personnel in implementing proactive behavioral supports, crisis prevention strategies, and approved physical intervention procedures, including TACT2, while promoting safe, positive, and inclusive learning environments.
Participate as a collaborative member of IEP Teams, reevaluation meetings, manifestation determinations, transition planning meetings, and other multidisciplinary conferences by providing behavioral expertise and recommendations regarding student programming and placement.
Develop training materials, procedural guidance, and district resources that promote consistent implementation of evidence-based behavioral practices and ensure compliance with IDEA, Chapter 14, Pennsylvania regulations, and district procedures.
Maintain accurate documentation, behavioral reports, assessment records, and progress-monitoring data, perform other duties as assigned by the Chief of Student Support Services, and engage in ongoing professional learning to maintain BCBA certification and current knowledge of evidence-based practices.

Qualifications

Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
Minimum of three years of experience as a practicing BCBA, preferably in a school setting.
Experience conducting FBAs, developing PBSPs/BIPs, and providing staff coaching.
Knowledge of IDEA, Chapter 14, MTSS, Positive Behavior Support, and trauma-informed practices.
Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

Ability to see for reading laws, regulations, policies, printed materials, and observing students.
Ability to hear and understand speech at normal conversational levels.

Work is predominantly in a school environment.
