Banquet Supervisor Job Description:

A Banquet Supervisor is responsible for overseeing banquet and event operations to ensure guests receive high-quality service. They coordinate staff, prepare event spaces, monitor food and beverage service, and ensure that events run smoothly from setup to completion.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise banquet staff before, during, and after events.
Coordinate event setup according to banquet event orders (BEOs).
Ensure tables, chairs, linens, decorations, and equipment are properly arranged.
Monitor food and beverage service to meet quality and timing standards.
Assign duties and schedules to banquet team members.
Train, coach, and motivate banquet staff.
Ensure excellent customer service and promptly resolve guest concerns.
Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in banquet areas.
Coordinate with the kitchen, sales, and housekeeping departments.
Monitor inventory of banquet supplies and equipment.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company policies.
Prepare reports on event operations and staff performance when required.

Job Requirements

Knowledge of banquet service styles, event planning, and hospitality standards.
2–5 years of experience in banquet, restaurant, or hotel operations.
Previous supervisory experience is required.

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong customer service orientation.
Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
Ability to use POS systems and basic computer applications (Microsoft Office).
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Lift and carry up to 25–50 lbs (11–23 kg), as required.
Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
