Full Job Description

What this role entails…

The Clinical Director is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and support to providers within one of the organization’s geographic regions. This role focuses on driving clinical excellence, provider engagement, quality patient care, and operational consistency through provider coaching, mentorship, recruitment support, and clinical quality oversight. The Clinical Director partners closely with executive leadership and regional operations teams to support clinical initiatives, standardize best practices, and promote comprehensive, patient-focused treatment planning across the organization.

The role collaborates with senior clinical leadership and regional operational partners to support provider development, clinical performance improvement, continuing education, compliance initiatives, and recruitment efforts. This position also serves as a key resource and mentor for providers while helping ensure safe, ethical, and clinically appropriate care delivery across all supported practices.

What we’re looking for…

Financial:

Partner with senior clinical leadership to support provider productivity and optimize doctor scheduling utilization.
Participate in ongoing clinical initiatives focused on improving provider performance and comprehensive patient care.
Review provider practice patterns and clinical KPI data to identify opportunities for growth and performance improvement.

Operational:

Support implementation of provider leadership initiatives and daily operational best practices within offices.
Assist with schedule template optimization to support provider and office efficiency.
Coordinate and monitor general practitioner and specialty referral processes.
Support standardization and appropriate utilization of clinical supplies, labs, and treatment protocols.
Monitor clinical quality indicators, including remakes, lab utilization, and patient care trends.
Participate in clinical committees and advisory groups related to quality, credentialing, and operational improvement initiatives.

Compliance:

Maintain compliance with all company, state, and federal clinical standards and requirements.
Review and respond to clinical incidents and partner with Compliance, Legal, and Operational Leadership on follow-up actions and corrective plans as needed.
Ensure implementation of state-specific clinical requirements and mandated training programs.
Monitor completion of required compliance and safety training programs across the region.

Clinical Leadership & Provider Development:

Facilitate regional provider meetings and continuing education initiatives.
Partner with Recruiting on provider attraction and engagement efforts.
Mentor and coach providers on clinical quality, patient care, communication, and leadership development.
Support cross-functional collaboration between providers, operations leadership, and support teams to improve overall patient outcomes and office performance.
Other duties as assigned by senior leadership.

The qualifications you’ll bring…

Proven ability to monitor operational and clinical performance metrics and implement action plans for improvement.
Strong leadership, mentoring, and team development skills.
Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and business analytics systems.
Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Experience managing operational performance, budgets, and interpreting P&L statements.
Strong conflict resolution, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Advanced relationship-building and public speaking skills with the ability to lead meetings and engage providers effectively.
Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree required.
Hold an active dental license in the state of NY or NJ, both preferred.
5–7 years of clinical practice experience required; multi-site or DSO experience preferred.
Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Active participation in professional organizations preferred but not required.

Pay: $200,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year
