What we’re looking for…
Maple Lane Logistics is seeking candidates with approximately 2–5 years of experience in an ocean export department and a strong understanding of export processes and documentation. The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, effective time management skills, and strong written and verbal communication abilities. You must be comfortable working collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. We are looking for professionals with strong follow-up skills, excellent organizational abilities, and professional email communication skills to ensure the accurate and timely movement of export shipments.
About the Position
Duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Handles and takes ownership of the entire export shipping process of assigned shipments, from booking through vessel departure.
- Communicates with shippers, carriers, co-loaders, and overseas agents to arrange bookings and confirm space, rates, and schedules.
- Tracks, traces, and updates the status of outbound shipments on a daily basis.
- Prepares, compiles, and organizes documents for data entry.
- Transfers information from email instructions and various shipping documents into MS Excel spreadsheets, company system, and cloud files.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our system (GoFreight).
- Prepares and reviews export shipping documents (commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates, etc.) before sending to customers and carriers.
- Coordinates and/or supports AES/EEI filings and ensures compliance with US export regulations.
- Monitors cut-offs (CY, documentation, VGM) and ensure all requirements are completed prior to deadlines.
- Maintain effective communication with customers, vendors, overseas partners, and co-workers through a high volume of e-mails, phone calls, and verbal communication.
- Monitors internal reports on a daily basis to prevent delays and exceptions.
- Ensure accurate and timely billing to customers.
- Meets key performance indicators to support the department, branch, product, and overall company goals.
- Understands the operational process flow and constantly seeks improved ways for efficiency.
- Protects confidential information of all customers and the Company.
Qualifications
- High attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy.

- Strong time management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to multi-task effectively.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- No OPT or SPT sponsor.
Education & Experience
- 2-5 years of ocean freight forwarding/export operations experience
- Degree or Diploma in logistics, supply chain management, business, or related field.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience handling high volume data entry.
- Reading and writing proficiency in a second language (preferred)
