Full Job Description

We are currently seeking Test Engineers to join our team in Kent, Washington.

Engineer - Test II

This position is dedicated to the advancement and operational success of New Glenn, a heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle engineered for the routine transport of payloads and personnel to various orbits, including low-Earth and cislunar destinations. Designed with human-rated capabilities from its inception, the vehicle features a fully reusable first stage.

Our team is comprised of proactive problem-solvers who prioritize a culture of safety above all else. By joining us, you will contribute directly to the future of space exploration, ensuring the safety and reliability of our flight systems. We invite you to help us reduce the barriers to space access and support our mission of enabling millions to live and work in space for the benefit of our planet.

As a key member of our engineering group, you will lead development, qualification, and production testing for New Glenn spaceflight systems. You will manage the full lifecycle of test campaigns for mechanical, hydraulic, cryogenic, pneumatic, and actuated systems, from initial fabrication through final delivery. Your role involves creating and updating test procedures, leading readiness reviews, and analyzing data to confirm campaign success. You will collaborate with design and operations engineers to define requirements and integrate testing into our facilities, while working alongside technicians to ensure procedures are executed correctly. You will also determine the necessary test fixtures and data acquisition hardware, coordinating with designers to procure these assets. By streamlining our testing processes, you will help increase throughput while upholding rigorous quality standards and maintaining a safe environment for everyone. Your contributions will be vital to the manufacturing and delivery of hardware for the New Glenn launch vehicle.

We seek a candidate who brings technical proficiency, strong leadership, and a dedication to quality to help ensure safe human spaceflight. A genuine enthusiasm for our mission and vision is essential.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science or advanced degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline.
At least three years of professional experience focused on data analysis and component testing.
A disciplined work ethic characterized by meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational habits.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and technical communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both shop floor staff and executive leadership.
Proven track record of successfully overseeing multiple project timelines concurrently.
A deep-seated passion for the advancement of space exploration and flight.

Desired Skills:

We prefer candidates with five or more years of relevant industry experience in sectors such as aircraft, launch vehicles, oil and gas, motorsports, or satellites.

Demonstrated technical proficiency in the production, design, operation, or testing of hydraulic, cryogenic, actuated, and high-pressure systems (up to 6000 psi).
Comprehensive understanding of fluid system components, including fittings, actuators, regulators, servo-valves, and valves.
Practical experience utilizing automation systems, data acquisition, and various sensors like accelerometers and pressure transducers to improve testing accuracy.
Familiarity with the requirements for maintaining precision-cleaned hardware and systems.
Experience conducting environmental testing, such as leak, proof, thermal, or vibration testing, in accordance with MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-1540, or SMC-S-016 standards.
Proven capability in applying data reduction, processing, and analysis techniques to enhance testing outcomes.
Experience working with automated systems and data acquisition platforms to support efficient testing operations.
