Full Job Description

Header

This is a hybrid role that allows a flexible schedule for remote and onsite work. Hours will be 8AM to 5PM but could vary

Overview

Demonstrated success in leading the development of end-to-end systems, ideally in the medical device or healthcare industry.

Proven expertise in systems modeling, requirements management, risk analysis, verification, and validation.

Strong understanding of medical device regulations, quality systems, and data privacy regulations.

Broad technical knowledge encompassing hardware (such as embedded systems and sensors), software (such as algorithms, cloud and mobile applications), and data engineering.

Experience in requirements management, validation, and verification practices.

Experience in developing system design verification and validation plans and functional test procedures.

Demonstrated ability to work across disciplines to build consensus and drive complex systems to completion.

Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or other technical or science disciplines.

5 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, with a significant focus on connected medical devices or other complex, end-to-end systems involving hardware and software integration.

Debugging skills ability to trace and resolve hardware and software issues.

Duties

Lead the design, development, and validation of complex mechanical and electronic systems for medical devices, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and industry best practices.
Conduct root cause analysis on system failures or performance issues, implementing effective troubleshooting strategies to resolve technical challenges swiftly.
Utilize AutoCAD, SolidWorks, 3D modeling software, and CAD tools to create detailed schematics, mechanical designs, and product prototypes.
Manage project schedules from conception through implementation, coordinating cross-functional teams in manufacturing, civil engineering, and research to meet deadlines efficiently.
Perform system design reviews, building code analysis, and building code compliance assessments to guarantee safety and regulatory adherence in all engineering solutions.
Apply programming languages such as Python, C++, MATLAB, and scripting techniques for data collection, automation, simulation, and system control tasks.
Engage in laboratory testing, data analysis, research activities, and the collection of experimental data to validate system performance and reliability.
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize mechanical design processes, improve mechanical knowledge application, and ensure manufacturability of components.
Develop schematics for electrical systems involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automation hardware used in medical device production or testing environments.
Use 3D scanners for precise measurements during product development phases and support mechanical design improvements aligned with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Evaluate system integration points and lead the team in integration planning and testing between wearable devices, mobile applications, software algorithms, cloud software applications, and user portals.

Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to verify and validate system performance, safety, and security across the entire end-to-end ecosystem, including test protocol and report write-up.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

Accredited Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or other technical or science disciplines.

WORK HOURS: Full-Time-1st Shift

Pay: $55.00 - $92.84 per hour
