Full Job Description

Description

We are seeking a skilled Construction Engineer specializing in transit projects to join our team. This role focuses on overseeing construction activities related to transit, infrastructure, including highways, bridges, tunnels, and transit systems.

Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related technical field is preferred.
5+ years of experience in construction engineering with an emphasis on transportation infrastructure projects such as highways, bridges, tunnels, or transit systems.
Proficiency in project management software tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Procore, or equivalent.
Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, contract documents, and regulatory requirements specific to transportation projects.
Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with project stakeholders including contractors, engineers, regulatory agencies, and clients.
Experience in construction inspection, quality control, and safety compliance within transportation construction projects.
Knowledge of applicable transportation codes, standards, and environmental regulations.
Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and progress tracking.

Responsibilities and Duties

Provide technical and field construction engineering support to Resident Engineer (RE) and Construction Management (CM) staff.
Assist with interpretation and verification of compliance with contract plans, specifications, and project requirements.
Support coordination of surveying activities, inspections, and material verification testing.
Monitor and inspect onsite construction activities to ensure quality and conformance with contract documents.
Coordinate daily field reporting, documentation, and record management activities.
Assist with construction documentation, document control, and tracking of project correspondence.
Collaborate with project teams, contractors, inspectors, and stakeholders to support project delivery.
Support resolution of field issues and coordination of construction activities in a fast-paced project environment.
Maintain accurate project records and ensure timely communication of construction progress and issues.
Participate in field meetings, progress reviews, and coordination activities as needed.

Pay: $113,000.00 - $154,000.00 per year
