Fitness Specialist

The Hearthstone Green Lake | Seattle, WA Full-Time | Benefits Eligible

Empower Older Adults to Live Well

The Hearthstone Green Lake is seeking a passionate and energetic Fitness Specialist to join our Resident Engagement team. This position plays a vital role in helping residents maintain strength, mobility, independence, and overall well-being through personalized fitness programming and engaging group exercise opportunities.

Reporting to the Director of Resident Engagement, the Fitness Specialist will provide personal training, lead group fitness classes, and support resident engagement events and activities that contribute to a vibrant community lifestyle.

Availability to work one or both weekend days is strongly preferred.

What You'll Do

Fitness & Wellness Programming

Lead engaging group fitness classes for older adults with varying fitness levels.
Conduct fitness assessments and develop individualized wellness plans.
Provide one-on-one personal training sessions.
Monitor resident progress and adjust programs as needed.
Educate residents on healthy aging, exercise, balance, flexibility, and strength training.
Ensure a safe and welcoming fitness environment.
Maintain fitness equipment and report maintenance concerns.

Resident Engagement Support

Collaborate with the Resident Engagement team to support community events and programs.
Assist with wellness-focused events, health fairs, educational presentations, and special activities.
Encourage resident participation and foster meaningful connections throughout the community.
Support special events, outings, and community celebrations as needed.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

Personal Trainer, Group Exercise Instructor, or equivalent fitness certification from a nationally recognized organization.
SAIL (Stay Active and Independent for Life) Certification, or willingness to obtain certification after hire.
Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain upon hire.
Experience leading fitness classes and/or providing personal training.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Passion for helping older adults achieve their wellness goals.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in senior living, healthcare, wellness, rehabilitation, or related settings.
Degree or coursework in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Health Promotion, Recreation, or a related field.
Additional certifications in senior fitness, active aging, balance training, or fall prevention.
Experience supporting activities or resident engagement programming.

Schedule

Up to Full-Time
