Full Job Description

Patient Service Representative

PLEASE NOTE: To ensure that you are considered for this position, you must complete the skills assessment.

Our fast-paced, 4 provider private practice is seeking a full-time Patient Service Representative (PSR) who will provide a warm, welcoming atmosphere to our environment and who will strive to provide outstanding service to our patients. This position has the potential to develop into an administrative lead role, including project management.

Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Greeting patients upon arrival
Verifying and updating patient information to ensure proper billing
Obtaining appropriate patient consents if necessary
Scheduling appointments
Verifying insurance and ensuring necessary information and insurance card copies are in the EMR system
Managing patient messages and calls
Collecting co-pays, and patient balances
Confirming patient appointments
Handling of medical records requests
Follow-through with referral management (verifying insurance, contacting patient, obtaining necessary records from referring provider)
Secondary monitoring of patient waiting area

Clinic hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am– 5:00pm.

Requirements - Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED and a minimum of 1 year of medical office experience
Exceptional customer/patient service/interpersonal skills
Self-motivation, empathy, and ability to multi-task
Clear and effective communication in a positive manner; attention to detail, spelling and grammar
Dedication to great attendance and punctuality - A MUST
Knowledge of computer and phone systems
Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR)- E-Clinical Works Preferred.
MUST Have: Prior experience in healthcare setting or medical office

Starting Wage: $25 per hour
