Full Job Description

Metropolitan Contracting is an established Seattle area General Contracting company specializing in commercial tenant improvements and special projects.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Engineer supports Project Managers through project documentation, project tracking, procurement support, project coordination, and information management throughout the project lifecycle. The position serves as a primary resource for maintaining project information, tracking project documentation, and supporting project administration activities across multiple projects.

The Project Engineer works closely with Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Field Coordinators,Superintendents, Accounting, subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders to support efficient projectexecution and maintain organized, accurate project records.

PROJECT DOCUMENTATION & INFORMATION MANAGEMENT

Maintain project files, project records, and project documentation in accordance with company standardsand project requirements.
Manage project document control processes, including drawing revisions, project correspondence, projectrecords, and project documentation.
Maintain project logs, including RFI logs, submittal logs, change order logs, procurement logs, and otherproject tracking documentation.
Ensure project documentation is current, organized, and accessible to project stakeholders.
Support maintenance of project files and documentation systems, including digital project managementand document storage platforms.

PROJECT COORDINATION & PROJECT SUPPORT

Support Project Managers through organization, coordination, documentation, and project administrationactivities.
Coordinate project information between project team members, subcontractors, vendors, consultants,and clients as directed.
Assist with project startup activities and project administration requirements.
Prepare meeting agendas, meeting minutes, project reports, and project support documentation asrequested.
Identify missing project information, incomplete documentation, and project administration issuesrequiring follow-up.

PROCUREMENT & SUBCONTRACTOR SUPPORT

Track procurement activities, material status, delivery schedules, and long-lead items.
Maintain procurement logs and support procurement coordination activities.
Assist with subcontractor documentation, vendor documentation, Certificates of Insurance, compliancedocumentation, and contract-related records.
Coordinate procurement and subcontractor documentation with project team members, vendors, and subcontractors.
Monitor procurement activities and communicate potential schedule impacts or documentation concerns to project management personnel.

PROJECT TRACKING & REPORTING

Maintain project tracking systems and project administration records.
Track RFIs, submittals, procurement activities, change orders, closeout requirements, and projectdocumentation.
Prepare project status reports and project support documentation as requested.
Maintain accurate project records to support project administration, coordination, and reportingrequirements.

PROJECT CLOSEOUT SUPPORT

Coordinate collection and organization of project closeout documentation.
Track warranties, manuals, as-built documentation, certifications, and project turnover requirements.
Maintain closeout logs and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Support Project Managers through final project closeout and turnover activities.

TEAM SUPPORT & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Develop an understanding of company procedures, project management practices, constructionprocesses, procurement activities, and project administration requirements.
Maintain positive working relationships with project team members, subcontractors, vendors, clients, and business partners.
Demonstrate professionalism, organization, accountability, communication, and attention to detail in all aspects of the role.
Support continuous improvement of project documentation, project administration processes, and project information management systems.

Construction experience and education a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
