Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to join our dynamic medical imaging team. In this vital role, you will operate advanced radiologic imaging equipment to produce detailed cross-sectional images of patients’ internal structures, supporting accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of radiology procedures, patient care, and radiation safety protocols, ensuring high-quality imaging services in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Your expertise will contribute significantly to patient outcomes and the overall efficiency of our diagnostic services.

Duties

Operate computed tomography (CT) scanners and related radiologic imaging equipment to perform diagnostic scans with precision and adherence to safety standards.
Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort throughout the examination.
Implement radiation safety procedures to protect patients and staff, including proper shielding and dose optimization techniques.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to determine appropriate imaging protocols based on clinical indications.
Conduct specialized imaging procedures such as PET scans, interventional radiology, fluoroscopy, mammography, DEXA scans, and nuclear medicine studies as required.
Maintain detailed documentation of procedures performed, patient information, and technical data for accurate medical records.
Ensure compliance with aseptic techniques during invasive procedures and maintain a sterile environment when necessary.
Monitor equipment performance regularly and troubleshoot technical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Assist in emergency situations within the emergency room or Level I trauma center settings by providing rapid and accurate imaging support.
Educate patients on post-procedure care or preparations needed for subsequent tests or treatments.

Experience

Proven experience operating radiologic imaging equipment including CT scanners, X-ray machines, fluoroscopy units, mammography, DEXA scanners, and nuclear medicine devices.
Prior work experience in urgent care settings or emergency rooms is highly desirable.
Experience performing interventional radiology procedures and PET scans is preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic radiology principles.
Familiarity with radiation safety procedures and implementing radiation dose reduction strategies.
Previous involvement in Level II trauma centers or Level I trauma centers enhances suitability for this role.
Strong understanding of medical imaging protocols across diverse clinical environments including emergency medicine.
Ability to adapt quickly in high-pressure situations while maintaining accuracy and patient care standards.
