Scope of Responsibility
The Birthing Center Certified Nurse Aide will work in the nursery area and be responsible for providing patient care activities including: feeding, monitoring of vital signs, specimen collection, and patient transportation. Utilizes and charges for equipment and supplies. Acquires necessary equipment for procedures and explains procedure to patients and families. Cleans equipment, meal trays, and restores rooms after patient discharge.
Responsible to the Birthing Center Supervisor
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Training and Experience
- 1 year current hospital or nursing home Nurse Aide experience or completion of Nurse Aide Course preferred
- Current certification through the Texas Nurse Aide Registry
- Obtains and maintains American Academy of Pediatrics NRP within 4 months of employment
- Obtains and maintains American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider
