Job Description:
The MRO Purchaser is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials, supplies, and services required to support manufacturing operations, maintenance activities, facility needs, and operational continuity. This role plays a critical part in preventing downtime by ensuring timely availability of spare parts, maintenance materials, tools, consumables, and operational supplies.
The MRO Purchaser partners closely with Maintenance, Production, Engineering, Warehouse, and external suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement, reliable supplier performance, and uninterrupted plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
· Source and procure MRO materials required to support manufacturing and facility operations, including:
o Maintenance supplies
o Spare parts
o Industrial tools
o Safety equipment / PPE
o Electrical and mechanical components
o Facility supplies
o Consumables
· Create, issue, and manage purchase orders within ERP/MRP systems.
· Monitor purchasing status, acknowledgements, and open orders to ensure on-time delivery.
· Expedite critical materials and resolve supplier delays, shortages, or delivery issues.
· Monitor inventory levels, min/max quantities, and reorder points to prevent stockouts and production downtime.
· Collaborate with Maintenance and Warehouse teams to maintain appropriate stocking strategies for critical spare parts and operational supplies.
· Support inventory accuracy and continuous improvement efforts related to MRO materials management.
· Develop and maintain strong working relationships with vendors, distributors, and service providers.
· Negotiate pricing, lead times, and commercial terms to support cost control and operational needs.
· Evaluate supplier performance related to quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost.
· Research and qualify alternative suppliers and products to improve availability, reduce costs, and mitigate supply risk.
· Coordinate purchasing activities using the Monday board and direct communication with Maintenance, Production, Engineering, and Warehouse teams to identify requirements and priorities.
· Support operational needs with a strong sense of urgency and proactive communication.
· Participate in planning discussions, maintenance projects, equipment repairs, and operational improvement initiatives.
· Support cost reduction initiatives, standardization efforts, and continuous improvement projects.
· Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier data, contracts, pricing files, and documentation.
· Ensure compliance with company purchasing procedures, safety requirements, and internal controls.
· Assist with process improvements related to procurement workflows, inventory management, and supplier performance.

Qualifications:
· Associate degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
· 2–5 years of purchasing, procurement, or buyer experience, preferably in manufacturing, maintenance, industrial, or MRO environments.
· Experience purchasing maintenance parts, industrial components, tooling, or facility materials strongly preferred.
· ERP/MRP system experience required.
· Experience with inventory management practices, reorder points, and supplier coordination preferred.Excellent communication skills, organizational and time management skills, Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software applications.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations.
· Must be able to travel occasionally up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications:
