Pay Range for the Position: $22.58 - $30.54
Join our Roxboro Gypsum team as a hands-on Raw Material Operator supporting a safe, steady, and quality-driven manufacturing process. In this role, you will operate and monitor raw material systems, use mobile equipment, complete quality checks, and work closely with teammates to keep materials moving efficiently from start to finish.
- Operate and monitor equipment used to prepare, stage, blend, and supply raw materials for production.
- Maintain consistent material flow by tracking silo/raw material levels, readings, and process conditions.
- Use HMI controls, front-end loader, sit-down forklift, and related equipment to support mill or supply activities.
- Perform quality inspection tests, identify concerns, and communicate process or raw material issues promptly.
- Follow LOTO, PPE, housekeeping, 5S, and other safety expectations in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Start up, shut down, operate, and monitor area equipment in accordance with process and safety requirements.
- Assist production with product changeovers and maintain accurate manual logs for finished product and dry waste as needed.
- Load, move, blend, stage, and recycle materials using mobile equipment based on assigned work area.
- Complete Level 1 quality checks and escalate quality, sampling, storage, or process flow concerns.
- Support WCM, autonomous maintenance/CIL activities, work orders, improvement boards, and assigned production needs.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 1 year of manufacturing or production experience required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience with manufacturing systems and quality testing required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency required.
- Knowledge of manufacturing safety programs preferred.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and autonomous maintenance practices preferred.
Work Schedule & Environment
- Rotating 12.5-hour shifts (days/nights).
- On-site manufacturing environment with both indoor and outdoor work areas.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, dust, and wet conditions.
Physical Demands The requirements below are representative of those needed to perform the essential functions of the position:
- Regular standing, walking, visual inspection, hand/finger dexterity, and verbal communication.
- Ability to wear required PPE, including hearing, eye, head, and foot protection.
- Frequent reading, writing, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, repetitive hand motions, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Occasional sitting and operation of power tools.
- Frequent use of computers and large manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to work safely in dusty, wet, and temperature-variable environments.
