Full Job Description

Job Summary:

The IL Supervisor is a is a front-line supervisory position responsible for overseeing the work of a team of IL employees based in the Geneva office who provide core Independent Living Services. The IL Supervisor Leads workers in a hands-on way and is responsible for motivating employees, managing their performance, providing them with guidance or feedback, and resolving conflicts. The IL Supervisor is the direct point of contact between management and their direct reports. In addition to the managerial role, the IL Supervisor provides direct services and technical assistance, ensures regulations are followed, and provides employees with training and development opportunities.

Program Management Job Duties:

Hire, train, supervise and manage the IL staff based in Geneva.
Provide and document one-on-one supervision with all direct reports, at least on a biweekly basis and more frequently if needed.
Assign staff caseloads and review case notes on a weekly basis to ensure staff provide high quality services and effectively document those services, providing feedback as needed.
Produce and review weekly reports for documenting, monitoring and assessing staff productivity.
Ensuring completion of project and contract deliverables.
Coaching and training staff to improve performance as necessary.
Providing direct support to line staff by problem solving consumer issues and advocacy concerns.
In conjunction with the other IL Supervisors, lead weekly IL team meetings.
Provide the core IL services to individual consumers.
Engage in and document community outreach activities.
Provide and document technical assistance to the community.
Report any issues and challenges to the Director.
Providing information for reports as requested.
Write blog posts and newsletter articles on program activities.
Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field required with five years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a peer program. Personal and lived experience with disability preferred.

Strong leadership and management skills.
Excellent personal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Impeccable time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

SUPERVISION:

This position has direct reports and regular responsibility for the work of others.

WORK CONDITIONS (ENVIRONMENT AND SCHEDULE):

This office-based job operates in a shared office environment with overhead lighting and moderate to light noise. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. Assistance may be provided in the community or consumer homes.
