Henjes, Conner & Williams, PC is a growing, local CPA firm in the Sioux City, Iowa metro area seeking talented individuals interested in opportunities for a challenging, rewarding career. We provide tax, accounting, and consulting services to a variety of business and individual clients. We currently have an energized staff of forty people and have earned an excellent reputation for service and quality in our community.

To accommodate our growing staff and client base we moved into a newly constructed office at Dakota Dunes, South Dakota in 2018. The firm currently has around 40 professional staff and our new office has space to accommodate the staffing necessary to continue our current growth trajectory.

Senior Tax Accountant/Tax Reviewer

Henjes, Conner & Williams, PC is seeking an experienced senior tax accountant to work in our Dakota Dunes, SD office. Our ideal candidate would possess five or more years of experience in public accounting (or similar environment). This key professional position is open immediately and offers an excellent opportunity for leadership and career advancement for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

Review individual and business income tax returns and train staff
Perform income, estate, gift, sales, and payroll tax research
Preparation of complex individual, business, and fiduciary income tax returns
Prepare tax projections and related planning documents
Respond to governmental correspondence
Various projects as assigned to assist Partners and Management staff in helping our clients in achieve their financial goals

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, master’s in taxation, or law degree, CPA, or CPA candidate preferred
Two or more years of experience in public accounting (or similar environment) is required
Ability to research and apply tax code to complex business situations
Knowledge of professional audit and accounting standards
Passion for excellence and professional growth
Outstanding attention to detail
High moral and ethical standards
Takes ownership and pride in their work
Highly motivated self-starter
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, and computer skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Experience with CCH Axcess software applications a plus
